Here i am giving yet another 1 star review, wishing i could give this city less. I pay over $3000.00 a year in property taxes plus addition have to pay in city taxes. They changed code so I couldn’t park my semi that I run a business with to pay their taxes to help infrastructure and salaries etc to be told I can’t park my semi at my house.. Not even in my driveway of a property I paid for. The complaint is visibility, how is it an issue parked in my driveway? It’s my property this is not an HOA. They have no signs posted no trucks. But they will allow you to bring one in to deliver, convenient right? You worry about my semi parked on my driveway but let the houses fall apart in the neighborhood, you approved a trucking school on a restricted truck route, nothing over 22,000lbs, they are over 22,000, burnt houses? They are giving them years to get them taken care of? Like why? It makes the neighborhood look bad, they don’t enforce you to cut down dead trees, no they let them fall and leave it up to you to fight your neighbor. I have been forced to clean up 3 trees that have fallen, my house is deprecating due to them not enforcing code or having a code to force residents to fix their homes up. They focus on enforcing codes that don’t cost the city money. They enforced code for me to move the semi, didn’t even give me a print out of the code and what I was doing wrong, they can’t enforce these houses to be torn down “ because it’s not in the budget” & Both of my neighbor’s houses need fixed very seen But they are worried about a semi. How is banning parking my truck in my driveway going to fix the roads or avoid ruining the roads when you have semi’s coming to deliver? My truck weighs 16,000 GVW, when your allowing a truck sleepers 33,000 GVW, trailer 20,000 GVW & a load weight of 20,000-45,000 lbs of a total of 73,000-100,000lbs combination weight deliver. This goes to show the city is focusing on things that don’t matter, they take your money but don’t truly care or they would have enforced the owner of the apparentment that’s burnt down to do something. Let’s not talk about how residents in the city make their income by driving a truck. They waste our tax money by not focusing on big issues that should be addressed. Then you have government workers changing laws that have zero clue or experience in areas they are changing. There’s so many abandoned houses in trotwood but they are worried about their roads and semis? Make it make sense? There are far more houses that need taken care of that have sat for years making our neighborhood look bad compared to trucks. These abandon houses are a hot spot for crime, a most certain area our residents or children could get hurt or start getting squatters that will increase the crime rate and put residents at risk of left or harm. Trotwood don’t even have a grocery store, GFS was the fix? Laughable, who is in charge up . A lot of residents walk, wouldn’t it make sense to fill up an empty store front but they put the location miles away, why wouldn’t I just go to Walmart at that point. Why not put an Aldi where food town was, that would make too much sense.. if resistants open their eyes they will see the city does not care about us, there is nothing in trotwood but we pay 10x’s more in living cost here. Sounds like it is to pay salaries, the roads are horrible, abandon houses and burnt down houses sit for years. Trotwood city has their own agenda and it’s not for the best interest in it’s residents. 2 times the amount charged for water than or anywhere else. They don’t care about the residents. Don’t move here if you can avoid it or move out if your here, it’s much more affordable elsewhere. You can find parts of Dayton that offer amenities, like food, and things that matter and a counsel that focuses on issues the residents need fixed. Funny how they can pick and choose which codes to enforce. Build a distribution center that will once rented out push more trucks deliver that will destroy roads but band trucks parking in the year. Shows they have zero experience.

I gave 1 star to make a comment, if it weren’t for that I’d give - 5. Beware moving to trotwood. Utilities such as water are a joke, you will pay 3x’s the amount every 3 months you would anywhere else. Called to see if a burnt down building would be taken care of wasn’t even on their radar, so who cares right? I do. I had a 2015 Cadillac ATS that wasn’t in use, they stickered my window, I called and asked if I could just have it parked in my drive way, officer said it would be eventually towed. I informed him it was a newer car, he said they don’t like cars hanging around. Reference the burnt apartments I had mentioned above. Moving on, after they charge outrageous property taxes, it’s a mandatory city filing, cause if you haven’t given all your money in water and anything else, they will find another way to suck money out of your pockets. Additionally, no food around, no stores, no nothing. They decided to put in a courthouse instead of a supermarket. The logic of whoever runs this part of the city are greedy. All the want is your money and don’t give you anything in return for a reason to stay. I can’t wait to sell my house and get out of her to a nicer community and save some money. Would not recommend moving here.
