I am writing this review to warn future travelers about a critical failure in sanitation and customer accountability at the Wyndham Garden Texarkana on Stateline Avenue. Our recent stay was not only ruined but was major health and safety hazard by the discovery of bed bugs in our room. Not only was this a discusting lapse in hotel cleanliness standard but was as well a shocking failure of accountability from the hotel management. ​Upon the confirmed presence of bed bugs—our immediate concern was the health and safety of ourselves and our belongings. This is not a minor inconvenience; it is a serious sanitation crisis that requires immediate, professional intervention from the hotel. ​We took the necessary immediate steps to report the issue to the front desk, expecting urgent action and support for mitigation, instead, the response we received was deeply inadequate. The managerial avoidance is unacceptable, and a complete lack of response was a failure from the hotel management. Despite our request for the manager to contact us back to discuss the refund, compensation, and the safety issue, we received no follow-up call, email, or resolution attempt. ​To encounter such a severe, pest issue is bad enough, but to then be met with silence and avoidance from the property's leadership is a profound failure of customer service. This demonstrates a disturbing lack of concern for guest well-being and a complete unwillingness to take accountability for dangerous conditions within their property. ​While the hotel's location is convenient, it is not worth the risk. A facility that fails to maintain basic sanitation standards and whose management actively avoids guests reporting health hazards should be avoided at all costs. We strongly advise choosing an alternate lodging option in the Texarkana area where safety and guest concerns are prioritized.

My son and I stayed here for Thanksgiving. We enjoyed our entire stay. The rooms were clean, the ACTUAL breakfast was hot and plentiful, and the staff were A+++! It was refreshing to experience a customer service driven staff again! I don’t remember names but the ladies who worked the front desk during my stay were outstanding. I needed to switch rooms because of mobility issues and they happily obliged. Even showed me a couple different rooms to see which worked best for me. What other hotel would have done that? That was service above and beyond (and I am a basic rewards member—signed up at check in). Now, I gave them 4 stars only because the hotel is still renovating. If this is the level of service they are providing now, the sky is the limit if they stay on course!

You get what you pay for. That pretty much sums up the entire experience except for the people at the front desk that were super helpful and very friendly. I spoke to one of the front desk guys at length because I love listening to people's experiences. Sadly, there's only so much that he could do or anyone else. The entire property has been neglected. I found three lifts and only one works. The one lift that does work is not exactly in the greatest shape. There's discards housekeeping carts in one of the stairwells. Tiles are missing or cracked. The house A/C wasn't working, so it was a little warm but very humid. In the room, it wasn't terrible just putting my eyes on it, but a few of the lights didn't work. I asked for a light bulb and got one but the light still didn't work. It's already pretty dark in the room and one light isn't going to make much of a difference. It would have been nice to have more lights. The sheets were clean. I dug a little deeper and found that the little A/C unit's filter was inches thick of dust. I took it to the front desk and they seemed to be shocked how much dust was caked on the filter. My guest and I got another room based on their recommendation. The second room was not much better and the A/C filter was equally caked in dust but with black spots. Looked like it might have been mold. Sheets were clean but the bed was like sleeping on a piece of plywood. The bathroom was so dark, it was hard to see anything. Taking a shower, the tub couldn't take the full flow of water without backing up. I had to turn the water off so the water could drain. The property is massive and it could be something really nice, but it seems no one is putting any money into this establishment. With the low room rates, I doubt they will have any cash to fix it. I've seen worse and I've stayed in worse. Spend some money and get something better.

This place has really turned around for the good. The new management and their staff are top notch professionals. They really know how to take care of their guest and make them feel Welcomed and wanted. Sangria was so sweet and anytime we neeeded anything she made it happen. And made our stay as pleasant as possible

DO NOT STAY HERE. The bedsheets do NOT get changed between guests. Out of three rooms they ALL had this issue. Brought it up to management who didn’t even deny it. Hair one the beds as well as self tanner (which should wash off EASY in the washing machine) floors weren’t vacuumed. Toothpaste in sink. Smelled AWFUL. Cleaning lady had to let us in and almost opened the wrong door THREE TIMES. Elevator was broke. When I went to change the sheets THE MATTRESS PROTECTOR WAS URINE SOAKED WITH BLOOD STAINS. Exposed wires. Weird white powder and not ONCE did they clean the rooms or did management act surprised or concerned at all. All she said was “okay I’ll switch your room” with little to no concern because they know it’s bad.
