Flying with Fly Heli was an unforgettable experience! From the moment we arrived, everything was smooth and professional. The staff made us feel comfortable and excited for what was to come. Once we were in the air, the views were absolutely breathtaking—Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, the Willis Tower, and Millennium Park looked stunning from above. The flight was smooth, and the pilot pointed out key landmarks, which made it even more special. What stood out the most was how peaceful and exhilarating it felt to see the city from such a unique perspective. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind way to experience Chicago. If you’re considering it, I can’t recommend Fly Heli enough. Totally worth it!

Chicago Vertiport has been a net negative for nearby neighborhoods. Since it opened, helicopter noise has become a constant, drowning out conversations in public parks and rattling windows in homes and apartment buildings. What should be a public amenity, peaceful outdoor space, has been hijacked by nonstop helicopter tour traffic overhead. Taxpayers funded the Vertiport, but all the benefits flow to out-of-town tourists and private operators. That stings, especially for long-time residents of Pilsen, Little Italy, University Village, Medical District, West Loop, and beyond who now live with the daily noise burden. Not the first screwjob against hardworking citizens by the City, but certainly the most obnoxiously loud. Beyond the continual noise there is the issue of governance (or lack thereof). Helicopter operations fall into a gray area with no statutory limits, leaving tour routes and frequency at the discretion of the private operators. This glaring lack of clear, enforceable boundaries is why the noise problem persists. How could our local alderman and city council not know this in advance? I wonder how the shoebox full of money got divided up? The community impact was either grossly underestimated or (more likely) ignored. The result has been a steep decline in quality of life for nearby residents and businesses with no evidence whatsoever of any offsetting public value. Vertiport Chicago is a terrible neighbor with no accountability. Chicago city leadership put residents last for the sake of a few extra dollars in their greedy pockets. They rammed through a for-profit operation with no enforceable flight-path or altitude rules, no limit on tour frequency and hours, no accountability to local residents, and no consequences for violations. A classic example of why Chicago is and will continue to be a national laughingstock until it gets some intelligent, responsible, accountable leadership.
