Another USO, another disappointment. This location is outside the TSA security lines in one of the busiest airports in the United States, yet they refuse entry to Veterans and Disabled Veterans. Let that sink in the very organization that claims to support service members and veterans won’t even allow access to those who served, unless you’re on active duty or fit their selective criteria. What’s the point of donating to the USO if they shut out the very people who kept the uniform on for years and now live with the scars of service? It feels like a betrayal. Disabled Veterans especially should never be turned away. Shameful practice, and it makes me seriously reconsider any future support or donations to this organization. USO, you need to do better.

I was very impressed with the USO at the Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. The volunteers/personal were very friendly and welcoming. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon and stayed about 2 hours. We asked to sign in(as with any USO) and show military ID. The food was awesome , offering us warm pizzas out of he oven and freshly made homemade chicken croissant sandwiches. They had fruit and doughnuts along with pop and coffee. Various snack items (including Girl Scout cookies) were available. There was plenty of available seating, recliners, and phone charging stations. The only negative was the location. You have to leave security, enjoy your time at the USO, then go back through security to get on your flight out. plan accordingly. The line through security was long but moved fast and we went through and 15 minutes. Got on the “plane-train” to get to Southwest boarding areas. It took approximately 12 to 15 minutes after we got off plane from Orlando to get to the USO. Then about 20 minutes from USO to Southwest gate C13. Highly recommend this USO!!!!!!

Another poorly managed uso OUTSIDE the terminals, where veterans, including disabled veterans are not welcome; even at 8am when they first open and no one is even in there. Just goes to show that almost all military programs that run off of contributions do nothing for and could not care less for veterans who served our country. The uso itself should be defunded, dismantled and redone. And with volunteers who will not give you a bs attitude for just wanting to try and get some rest when we have a 24 hour layover!! Pathetic, BS, a complete joke and a waste of tax dollars and contributions. I'd say, do better, but they won't listen. The Atlanta Airport itself is a joke. An absolute failure for our military.
