Came to this airport to pick up a family member. This is my first time here and I was really nervous coming here. Parking was really straightforward, easy access in and out, I was surprised. Get your tickets when you come in, MAKE SURE YOU TAKE IT WITH YOU when you go into the airport because you will need it to pay before going back to your car (You also get a 15 minute window for you to leave). Elevator was out of service! Inside the airport, it was nice and clean. There are taxi people just waiting for you to come out of the arrival doors, but they are not annoying, if you say no, they’ll move on. That’s was good. They have a money exchange, shops, some fast food and a Starbucks inside.

Tijuana International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional de Tijuana), officially Aeropuerto Internacional General Abelardo L. Rodríguez (General Abelardo L. Rodríguez International Airport) (IATA: TIJ, ICAO: MMTJ), is an international airport located 5 km (3.1 mi) northeast of downtown Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. It serves Tijuana and the surrounding San Diego–Tijuana metropolitan area, home to a population of five million. The airport functions primarily as a domestic gateway, serving a network of 37 domestic destinations.[2] It is a hub for Volaris and a focus city for Viva. Additionally, the airport houses facilities for the Mexican Air Force and supports cargo flights, tourism, flight training, and general aviation. It is the westernmost airport in Mexico and the second-northernmost, after Mexicali International Airport. The airport is operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico. Situated adjacent to the Mexico–United States border, Tijuana Airport is a geographically binational airport, having direct access to its terminal from Mexico and from its Cross Border Xpress (CBX) facility in the United States. This rare feature allows passengers with a boarding pass to walk across the border using a dedicated pedestrian bridge.[3] The airport ranks as the fifth busiest in Mexico for both passenger numbers and aircraft movements,[4] and holds the 16th position in Latin America and the 47th in North America. It handled 8,925,900 passengers in 2019 and reached 12,545,800 in 2024, of which 4,114,100 were international passengers using the CBX terminal.[1]

It's improving day to day. Remodeling is in progress but they keep it fairly clean and safe. Security is tight but it's better than not knowing what may happen next. Food court offers several options and prices are not bad for an airport.

Good morning, this review is not about the airport, because the service is excellent, the food and the staff are very polite and helpful. 5 starts for you. However, my complaint is about Volaris and their staff, particularly the supervisor on shift yesterday afternoon, Alejandra Guzman, she claimed to be. She denied my daughter the right to board, finding all kinds of excuses, she paid the ticket for her dog, had all documents needed. Paid a lot for that, they demanded more paperwork that she provided. They kept finding excuses, they promised they would put her on another plane because she lost the scheduled flight. They denied that and she got stranded at the airport. They were overbooked and looking to get rid of travelers, the supervisor was mocking at my daughter when she was explaining that she was promised another seat in a different flight, she wouldn't reimburse or give credit. Very unprofessional. I in particular have had my issues with this airline, but this was way too much. This makes look bad the airport as well.

Busy airport but convenient for all Mexico flights because they have the CBX border crossing bridge U.S. / Mexico

It is a nice small airport. They refurbished it few years ago. I had a nice experience fling in and out of here. The checked suitcases come out pretty fast. Something that doesn't ocurre in Mexico City's airport.
