Avoid Spirit Airlines at All Costs — A Regretful Experience I chose Spirit Airlines thinking I’d save a few hundred dollars — one of the worst decisions I’ve made. From start to finish, the experience was riddled with poor service, zero courtesy, and a complete disregard for passengers. 🚐 Early Warnings Ignored: Even the airport shuttle driver reacted with concern when I mentioned I was flying Spirit. He’d witnessed numerous incidents involving rude treatment of passengers. I brushed it off, thinking those were rare cases — but I was wrong. 💵 Overpriced for Nothing: I paid $820 for four tickets from BWI to IAH — and that was just one way. This isn’t a “budget” experience; it’s a stripped-down, bare-minimum service. You pay for everything — even a sip of water, regardless of whether you’re traveling with kids. It’s transportation in the most literal sense: no comfort, no amenities. ✈️ Chaotic Return Flight: On our way back with a toddler and a young child, the nightmare peaked. • The flight was delayed due to technical issues. • No messages, no updates on the airport screens. • I finally received a delay text after boarding time had passed. • The delay dragged on for 5+ hours with updates every 20 minutes shifting our departure: 5:58 → 7:20 → 7:55 → 8:47 → 9:07 → 9:29 → 10:25. 📞 Customer Service? Not Really. I called for clarity and basic support. They couldn’t confirm if the flight would depart. I asked for meal vouchers — especially important with small children in tow — and was bluntly denied. Their only offer? Cancel for a future travel credit or rebook. Both options were impossible due to our circumstances. The lack of empathy was astonishing. --- Final Thought: I will never fly Spirit Airlines again. Saving a few bucks isn’t worth risking this kind of trauma — especially when flying with family. They don’t value passengers, won’t communicate clearly, and show no courtesy in times of disruption. ✋ Please think twice before booking — you deserve better.

The flight was awesome! I sat directly in the front which was great for me! Thank you God the pilot got us to our destination safely. The flight attendants were attentive and had great customer service! Thank you for the safe flight.

Worst Airline Experience No Wi-Fi despite paying for it, app was down, and I wasted over an hour in chat just to request a refund—only to be told they couldn’t give me a receipt. Return flight was delayed 1.5 hours due to total chaos at the gate. Spirit staff let disruptive passengers board, then removed them after we were all seated. This is my second bad experience with Spirit. Poor customer service, zero accountability, and disorganized from start to finish. Never again.

Lots of delays and everyone just runs around everywhere. Saw crying kids and babies crawling around by themselves for good 2 hours until single mom runs over with licorice sticks to help. 3 police showed up to harass a guy because he didn't speak English. The flight was smooth and good. Take off smooth and landing was the smoothest transition ever from air to ground no shaking or uncomfortable drop. Flight great but airport itself felt like it's own wild west

My wife and I were excited for our trip to Florida and eventually Aruba. Unfortunately, Spirit Airlines at BWI turned that excitement into one of the most frustrating airport experiences we’ve ever had. We arrived at the counter 45 minutes before boarding, which should have been enough time. The agent at the counter immediately told me he couldn’t check me in because I didn’t have certain forms filled out. I completed them in two minutes, but instead of helping us move forward, he made us wait another 10 minutes, only to say he would “try.” When he entered my Green Card number, he claimed something wasn’t right and suggested there “might be a policy change.” As a Green Card holder, I do NOT need a visa, and I explained that if he would at least let us fly to Fort Lauderdale, we could sort things out there with more time. We had non-refundable hotels booked, and if he had simply shown a willingness to help from the moment we arrived, we would have made our flight. Instead, he told me to “go to Southwest and book a flight to FLL” and said Spirit would refund the BWI-to-FLL part later. Then he sent us to customer service — which was another disaster. The entire experience was unprofessional, careless, and honestly felt like they just didn’t want to bother helping. It’s cheap for a reason — the lack of professionalism, lack of training, and lack of customer care. ⚠️ We will never fly Spirit again.

Worst airline and worst customer service- don’t fall for the cheap rates! Just as cheap in service their airlines! Morning flight delayed till evening and all they can say is we’re sorry there’s a problem with aircraft - then change me to another flight, oh ya we don’t have any other flight… sorry… full refund at what value all other flight cost are tripled by now they should refund to equal to current value since we buy it at current value…. just CHEAP! Ruined trip- thanks spirit for breaking our spirits!
