Flight to NY was okay. Flight back was hell, from going to fly, to not flying and being dropped off at the gate again (while already being kept on the airplane for 2 hours without any water). To waiting at the airport/ gate for an update for around 2 hours. To again trying, getting boarded, driving, being kept in the plane for 1 hour more, again no water, nothing. Then they say, while still in the plane, the flight is cancelled and we will go back to the gate. Not moving for 30 mins, to eventually being dropped off at the gate. Where they couldnt help us or rebook us, no compensation nothing, because of the weather. To then at midnight, 9 hours after we gotten in the aiport, getting a hotel on our costs. They send us no update, eventually after 3 hours. We check our login, not even an email, but on our page it said we got rebooked (thanks for letting us know by email). To then being changed on a layover flight, first to montreal and then toronto. So a 1.5 hour trip turns into 5 to 6 hours now? And with no other options left for us to take! We even called and got send away, we had to figure it out ourselves bc they couldnt help us. No earlier flights, nothing... This is the most dreadfull service i ever experienced. I wish i'd never given them my time or money! If you can, avoid at all costs!

No air temperature control, hot cabin throughout the flight; low speed propeller based airplane, can’t compete with the speed from jetliners. Luggage room from overhead space was very tight. Delayed 4 times due to various reasons from the carrier itself. And check out this little creature in their window. Avoid.

We took a short flight from New York to Toronto. It was a good flight experience, with friendly ground staff and flight attendants. Highly recommended.

Although I’ve flown with Porter Airlines before, aside from the planes being quite old,I didn’t have major issues in the past. However, this time’s experience was extremely unpleasant. At the check-in counter, there was a man wearing glasses who appeared to be of Asian descent. His attitude was shockingly rude and unprofessional. I usually fly with Air Canada, but this time I chose Porter because the one-way ticket to Toronto was over $400 with Air Canada, while Porter only charged around $100. The price difference was significant, and I only had a ticket that allowed for a personal item. I brought a backpack and a tote bag, which is something I’ve done before. At LGA, Air Canada staff have always allowed me to combine the two bags into one carry-on, as long as I could wear them as a single unit on my back, and they counted it as one personal item. However, this Porter agent insisted that unless I could fit both bags together into their tiny personal item sizer, I’d have to pay a $65 fee. That bin is ridiculously small,I honestly don’t think most functional backpacks would even fit. It seems like whether you get charged is really up to the stuff’s mood. I’ve flown Porter before and never been pushed this hard over it. I’ve always used two bags that can be worn as one, and it’s never been a problem. What made it worse was the passive-aggressive attitude. He mockingly asked me to try fitting the bag in the sizer when it was obviously not going to work, anyone with working eyes could see that. It felt like he was deliberately giving me a hard time. I ended up paying the $65, which isn’t the issue,if the attitude had been decent, I would’ve accepted it. But the whole experience made me feel like Porter is a low-budget airline run on desperation, with staff who clearly lack proper training. Next time, even if Air Canada from LGA costs over $400, I’d rather pay the premium. At least they’re professional, online check-in is easy, and the staff doesn’t like an idiot. To be honest, I also felt there was a degree of racial bias involved. As an Asian traveler, I noticed a stark contrast in how he treated me compared to another customer of a different race (I won’t say which one, but you know that)If you’re just looking for the cheapest option and don’t care about the experience, go ahead with Porter. But if you don’t want to waste energy dealing with rude staff, especially that one guy at Newark please choose a different airline.

Better than going to Pearson. Waiting area is renovated, but I miss the free coffee, drinks and snacks. The plane's seats are a special sort of torture: metal bar resting against my tailbone for the entire flight. Friendly service and more affordable than its competitors.
