Plaza Travel was very instrumental in helping us plan a great 12 day independent trip to Italy. It was just my wife and I traveling alone, first time for me and second time for her, although her first time was with a tour group. No tour group, and no tour guide this time, other than a few local tours, some of which were booked by Plaza Travel, others we booked ourselves, some not until we were in Italy, as we wanted maximum flexibility. Plaza's suggestion of Rome first, then Florence, and then Venice was the perfect scenario. We considered other cities as well (ie, Bologna, Siena, etc.) but decided to keep it simple, if you will, and are very glad we did. We were very particular about the hotels, and did tons of research. With Plaza's help, we ended up with some gems, including great centralized locations and beautiful accommodations. In spite many moving parts on a trip like this, including lots of in-country train and taxi travel, the entire trip went off without a hitch, pretty near perfect. BTW, if you are considering Italy for the first time and are concerned about the language, not to worry, at least not in the cities we visited, English is spoken everywhere, so much so that we kinda felt cheated a bit, in that we had learned some Italian in advance, but ended up not using it much, because locals seem to prefer English.
