This is a smaller airport i noticed as soon as i walked off the plan. All the termaials and lanes are smaller amd mot as wide as most airports. This is a newer airport and has many upgrades. Was only here a few moments. I walked out toward bagagge and they had someone doing whisky tastings. Welcome to Kentucky.

I’ve flown out of Louisville International Airport multiple times and overall, it’s a solid regional airport with a few standout positives—but also some frustrating drawbacks. Positives: One of the best aspects of SDF is the updated TSA screening process. In my experience, security lines have generally moved quickly and efficiently, expect long lines during peak travel times. The staff is typically courteous, and the entire screening area feels more modern and streamlined compared to other airports of a similar size. This makes for a relatively stress-free start to your trip. Negatives: Unfortunately, the airport falls short when it comes to passenger convenience in the gate areas—specifically regarding access to power outlets. There are simply not enough charging stations or accessible outlets in the seating areas. While there is a business center with some charging options, it’s set apart from the gates and not practical for everyone to use. In today’s travel environment, where staying connected is essential, this is a significant oversight. No one wants their phone to die right before a flight or during a layover. Louisville International has made some welcome improvements, especially with TSA screening, but it urgently needs to address the lack of charging options at the gates. Until that’s improved, bring a portable charger if you're flying through SDF.

Solid airport. Smaller to getting in and out are pretty simple. They have a couple food options, some wide aisles so you are in too many peoples way. Also, as with most other airports, a couple shops to but bourbon related gifts if you missed someone. Not a 5 star, but not bad either.

I can not begin to state how poorly operated and run this airport is. Its a cargo airport with horrible passenger handling. Whoever trains manages or is responsible for the ground crew should be fired immediately. Always waiting on them to get out of the break room to park a plane and minimum an hour to get bags to the claim. The Mayor should be ashamed of himself in how this reflects to people arriving to a supposed tourism city when all he does is pontificate himself on the carousel signage as the bags don't appear. Removing covered parking spots for car rentals and placing Uber at the very end away from one of the main baggage claims is ridiculous and shameful. But best of all is the removal of walk ways and forcing arriving passengers mainly the locals to walk and go outside to get to a vehicle. The board should ashamed of themselves.

Spent a couple hours here, and it was great. Friendly people, clean restrooms, water fountains to fill up my bottle. Great Southwest Employees. TSA was fast, and very friendly.

My newest favorite airport. Usually flew out of Bluegrass Airport in Lexington but gave this airport a try. Had an okay experience with all airport services and staff. Parking was easy and well signed and cheaper than Bluegrass for economy parking. TSA was very quick and professional but some say I got lucky.
