I purchased an international ticket for my son through SmartFares on April 4, 2025, for $729.01 USD. The SmartFares system issued the ticket with the names incorrectly arranged (merging first and last names), which caused a mismatch with the passport. I tried to resolve the issue immediately, but their customer service is terrible. At first, they told me they would fix it with a $300 USD penalty, which I was willing to pay — but they did absolutely nothing. On my end, I tried to solve it directly with British Airways, and they confirmed the error was caused by SmartFares. No one took responsibility. I had to buy a new emergency ticket, and I completely lost the amount paid to SmartFares. On top of that, SmartFares adds hidden charges and extra fees after you've already paid for the ticket. In my case, they charged me $220 USD for airport taxes (TUA), which is completely dishonest. I have already filed complaints with the FTC, the U.S. Department of Transportation, and the Better Business Bureau (BBB). I do not recommend this agency. They are not trustworthy, they offer no solutions, and they play with travelers' money.

SCAM ALERT. They own a 1 digit off number to Hilton Honors customer service and booked a room with my points then charged my card $66 and refused to refund me. When I tried calling back they blocked my number. I had to block charges from my credit card. This is bad business and needs to be shut down.

This is a scam company. Beware! They charged my card $300 for a reservation I never made with them but rather with Hilton Honors. They kept claiming they would refund but never did so I reported fraud and closed down my card.

After being charged 4 times for our stay in Cancun & it being almost 3 months after the charges we still have not been able to get our refund. When we call to speak to someone in refunds we are immediately hung up on. Our correspondence in email form has been pretty much the same. I would suggest if anyone having the thought of dealing with LBF travel to stay clear, run. I can’t believe in this day in age that a company can be so devious.

They are a fair and trustworthy online travel agency. The airline rescheduled my flights without telling me and the travel agent took care of everything for me in just a few minutes. It was really nice to have them as a go-between when the airline was messing with me. They are legit and I'll use them again.
