The JAL San Diego team were very accommodating and provided excellent servicing. We had difficulty with submitting a payment for reservations at the JAL website. The agents were very patient and helpful in securing reservations. Agent Ms. S. Hamano assisted with details for dates, pricing and seats. Exceptional servicing and I definitely recommend Japan Airlines for international travel needs!

So disappointing!!! At first, I was happy to see a check-in counter just dedicated for passengers who pre-registered COVID-19 vaccine certification in the MySOS app and the line seemed much shorter than the regular economy class check-in counter. But, the line wasn’t moving at all! There were about 6 people before me and more than 20 in the regular line which was moving a lot faster. It took me more than 40 minutes to be finally getting checked in. It feels like a fool to have gone thru trouble setting up the app ahead of time. I really hope the JAL management look into this if they are interested at all to improve the service.

You can’t sit next to each other. They want to make you sit alone and eat alone during a 11 hour flight that has vacant seats. Service? What’s the deal? I’ve never had an airline say I couldn’t move even though there are empty seats.

Our family used to be loyal customers of Japan airline for years but not anymore. JAL seems to be a good choice for you if you just book a ticket, give them money and flight without any changing/problem that requires them to solve it for you. On December 5,2017 I booked and paid online $954 for a round-trip ticket for my mom- outbound from Hochiminh city, Vietnam to San Diego, CA on Feb 19 and return on May 15, 2018. Unfortunately, for some personal reasons, a few weeks later I had to call them for rescheduling our flights onto Feb 5, 2018 and April 27, 2018. I had read on their policy that I must pay $75 if I need to change the flight prior to the departure day. After at least 3 hours waiting on the line, an operator answered my phone and told me that I had to pay extra $237 for rescheduling including $75 changing fee and the rest for difference in fare. I agreed with that cost because I know the ticket price was no longer the same, logically, the price must raise up day by day. However, the fact is that the difference in fare just costed me $112 and I was overcharged $50 for ticket and fee (??) without acknowledged both by the policy they had sent to me and the operator!!!! I would never find out it if I did not checked the current price of my mom flights on their website a few days ago. Moreover, I was shocked knowing that the price at that moment is only $947, which is $247 lower than my actual payment and even $7 cheaper than our first booking price!!!They really know how to disappointing their customers!! I booked 2 months earlier and accepted the possibility that I may have to pay more for rescheduling because I didn't want to buy tickets when the price are already raise up. However it turned out to be my silly decision. That really doesn't make any sense to me. JAL has really brought me into the feeling that my family was tricked by the brand that we has been supporting for years! If I had known that I would have to pay $247 more for the ticket that I booked early, I would never have chosen JAL. There are many other options out there which are rescheduling free or at least having better solution in case ticket's price going down. Anyways. You can only betray your value customers for only one time. JAL won't be our choice since now!
