I would rate with zero stars .. not this location but it's ITA, it's their system and refund or change policies. It's a rip off. They don't honor emergencies to exchange for a reasonable cost. If you don't use the first leg in a round trip, your ticket is cancelled, you can't use the return only without paying top fare price. I had to cancel and I got back only $108 from my ~1k fare.

Flew from lax to Rome on this airline. Very uncomfortable seats and no wifi. Very unfriendly flight attendants. Never came around to pick up drinks or trash. They food was unbeatable. I took the flight back rome to lax. Never again would I take this airline even though it was a direct flight. Not good. Try to book another carrier.

Consistent with other reviews. We travel carry on luggage for trip LA to Italy. Agent insisted on weighing checked bag in LA( why?). We were charged $175 ( not$150 checked bag fee)for 20 lb bag 2.5 pounds over their 17.5 lb limit! Why… because they are predatory and abusive. The food was the absolute worst of any carrier- ever. Flight attendants disappeared between meal service and appeared ambivalent. Complained to ITA customer service and basically got a “pound sand” response. DO NOT FLY ITA

I took 2 Business class flights to and from JFK to FCO. Booked flights 8 months in advance. A few months later, without notice I was bumped from the return flight. I only noticed the bump after checking my plans and schedules. When I called ITA they said the type of plane changed, and merely offered to put me in a cheaper seat without restitution or cancel my return reservation all together. Simply said--- take it or leave it. I had no choice but to take it at that point, due to my schedule. Although the flights themselves were okay, with no issues, their booking practices are suspect...

they are not reliable for long haul flights followed by connections. you have a high risk of not making your connection. i was booked on a flight az641 from san francisco to rome 3:15pm - 12:15 pm followed by az1319 rome to bologna 13:40 - 14:45. well, the day of my travel, they told me that the flight to rome had a 75 min delay so they had to put me on a later flight for the second flight and they bumped me to a late night flight to bologna az1321 9:45pm-10:45pm. so i was just sitting there in the rome airport from early afternoon till 9:45pm for 9 hours. my italian friend told me that when the airline causes such long delays beyond two hours they're supposed to give you a meal voucher according to EU law. the airline did not provide any such thing nor did they give me any such information. i asked if i could simply skip the flight to bologna and take the train myself from rome but they said no, that would cancel the entire trip, including the return. so i had to just sit there and wait.
