It is the airport that is 'oldest continuously operated in the world'. Unfortunately it is not very busy since it is too close to DC. It has no running fly training school. Special clearance is required to take off or land. However, compare d to its historical value and importance, it is amazing that so few people know or has been to this place (even for peole who live here)!

My father flew a single engine airplane out of this tiny historic airport in College Park, Maryland, on weekends for several years, so I developed no fear of flying. It was fun to fly around the Washington, D.C. area and then land on a grass runway at the world's oldest continuously operated airport. There are no jets or paved runways here, and the facilities are for small planes. There is an adjacent College Park Airport Museum.

Beautiful lesson in aviation history. Pretty much historically accurate. I will check out the museum again next time when I can bring interested parties with me. The price is well worth the trip. Also found the remnants of an older corporate airfield next door in Riverdale.

College Park Airport burned 14.1 pounds of lead in 2020, a mile from local elementary school. They are not a friend of the children of College Park. Business and small plane owners get a free pass to pollute our air and endanger our community.

We just had my son’s 5th birthday party there and everything was fantastic. The staff was helpful during the planning process and they did an amazing job with the kids on his big day. The museum itself isn’t very large, but they pack a lot of displays in and it has plenty for both kids and adults to enjoy.
