🚫 Unacceptable Experience – Stranded While Pregnant, No Accountability Cape Air canceled our flight with very little notice, citing an “ATC ground stop” at Boston. Yet, there was no proof of this being an actual external mandate — it felt far more like a cost-saving decision, especially given how the flight time kept shifting before cancellation and we were quietly moved onto a different flight that still had space. This cancellation caused us to miss our connecting flights and stranded us in Boston for over 32 hours. My wife is in her third trimester of pregnancy, and we had no choice but to cover hotel, food, and transportation expenses out of pocket — over $700 CAD in total. When we respectfully requested a partial reimbursement, we were flatly denied. Cape Air took zero accountability for the consequences of their actions. Their customer care team offered nothing but a generic template reply blaming air traffic control. Frankly, it felt like they were hiding behind bureaucracy to dodge the cost of doing right by their passengers. We will not be flying with Cape Air again and cannot in good conscience recommend them — especially not to families, pregnant travelers, or anyone relying on timely connections. Disappointing, inflexible, and out of touch with the real-life impacts of their decisions.

Cape Air should be embarrassed by the people they have working the desk. My flight was at 10:29, I got to the desk at 10:01. That’s two minutes past their cutoff, fine, rules are rules, but the way I was treated was disgusting. One agent actually said, “I don’t want to but the pilot said yes.” The other snapped, “You the guy who just showed up?” and then called me a liar when I told her I had been there twenty minutes earlier. I had photo proof from my watch at the desk at 10:03, and she still doubled down. Here’s the kicker: the flight still left on time and landed so early that we deplaned 25 minutes ahead of schedule. So all their nasty attitude, eye-rolling, and name-calling wasn’t about the schedule at all, it was just pure unprofessionalism. If Cape Air thinks this kind of behavior is acceptable, it says a lot about how little they value their passengers. Those ladies put the anis in Hyannis. The pilots were wonderful and the landing was impeccable. So bravo to the fellas with the wings!

I had some hard time with CapeAir when they left us grounded in Martha's Vineyard airport to Hyannis and after reading every kind of opinion about their customer support, I was almost hopeless to receive good support, but I was wrong and positively surprised by the service received. Our plane left earlier than the scheduled time due to weird procedures at the Martha's Vineyard airport where even if you have already the boarding pass for the flight, you must check in anyway at the desk otherwise they don't call you and even they don't give any information about the gate in the screens (our gate was litterally an iron gate outside the terminal... totally not mentioned if you wait for the flight inside). Despite we asked information at the desk at 5.20pm, the flight that supposed to leave at 5.38pm already left... so, after some panic moments we decided to leave the island by ferry boat.... I sent immediately an email asking for refund of the non-flewn trips, and the day after they confirmed it, refunded the following day.

Experience was smooth but delayed, my flight to Boston was delayed due to weather but the weather was fine, the flight was smooth & landed in Boston afterwards, great airline!

I will likely avoid Cape Air where possible in the future. My flight from Bar Harbor to Boston was delayed due to "ground issues" in Boston (weather was great and flight was smooth). It took another 30-40 minutes to get may bag. I missed my flight in Boston. I have flown on small prop planes before and understand weather and other issues can be more common and to plan ahead. It just wasn't enough this time. Lastly, Ive flown in small commercial prop planes and older bush planes. None of them are quiet or especially comfortable-thats an unrealistic expectation. However, the 1980's style planes they're using are some of the most uncomfortable I've flown in. If you have mobility or chronic pain issues related to sitting consider an alternative or let Cape Air know you need roomier seats(not behind the pilots). On the upside, the in-person staff are friendly and helpful. When I thought my bags were missing I was unable to get a person on the phone through the general or local Boston phone lines. So, you might be SOL if you need someone and the ticket counter is closed.
