Fantastic airport! Flew here in a two-ship formation to eat at Jeane Bonnet Tavern and loved it. This airport management is terrific and really caters to pilots. We were able to use the courtesy car and have a really fun time at lunch. Bravo!

Originally this airport was built by George Washington so he could land his Cessna 1772 near Fort Bedford.

In the past 4 years I have had KHMZ as a fuel stop on long cross country flights...BIG mistake! This past Monday (9/6/21) I landed at Bedford with a very low fuel level. The FBO was unattended, there is no self-serve fuel facility on site, and the two pilots that were at the field couldn't help with our fuel situation, forcing me to continue on to Somerset County Airport, where I arrived fuel critical. If you are flying over PA, make sure KHMZ is not one of your fuel stops.
