This airline really has problems. I had no idea before I booked them. My flight was subsequently cancelled and I was left in Vienna overnight. This was on July 23rd and they still have not reimbursed me the expenses, even though I have followed their guidance and requested multiple times for an update. #reference: 2407-OS-17580

The best business class food we’ve ever been served—it was far better than what many high-end restaurants in the U.S. offer. However, the seat configuration wasn’t as impressive as Polaris or other airlines’ business class setups.

This review is 7 years late but me and my brother missed our flight to attend our dad’s funeral and we couldn’t afford another tickets. The lady in the Austrian airlines saw us and felt bad. She got us a flight home for the last time to see dad. 🙏 I will never forget what you did Austrian airlines. You will always be the greatest airlines to me

Avoid!!! Double charged me for luggage and customer service is nonexistent. When calling their customer support you get transferred to a call center in the Philippines, and with all due respect They have no idea how to resolve anything. They will hang up on you or keep you on hold for hours. Shame!!!

My husband and I traveled with our 6-month-old daughter from Texas to Austria this past August, and while our baby was an absolute angel, Austrian Airlines made this trip a nightmare. Our flight from Texas was delayed over an hour because they didn’t have enough staff to load the plane. This delay caused us to miss our connecting flight — through no fault of our own. When we went to the Austrian Airlines counter for help, we were told our only options were to wait until 10 PM for the next flight or take a train. Neither was reasonable after already traveling so many hours with an infant. We asked about a refund for the missed connection and were told to email customer service. After doing so, they denied our request, claiming we had “enough time” to make the connection — completely ignoring the fact that a customs trainee held us up by unpacking and testing every single item in our carry-ons. Because of that delay, we missed our flight and were forced to rent a car and drive four hours to our final destination at our own expense. To make matters worse, Austrian Airlines then canceled our return flights entirely because we missed the final leg on the way there. We had to pay to reinstate those tickets, and we also lost the money we spent upgrading to extra-legroom seats. Our return flight ended up in cramped seats with zero legroom, despite having paid for the upgrade. And as if that wasn’t enough, when we finally arrived back in Texas, our brand new $120 suitcase was completely destroyed — split wide open and literally wrapped in rope by the airline to hold it together. I even have video proof of them wrapping it. Throughout all of this, customer service was dismissive and offered absolutely no assistance, compensation, or even an apology. I strongly recommend avoiding Austrian Airlines. Their flight schedules are far too tight to realistically make connections — especially for families — and their customer service is completely unhelpful when their own operational failures cause problems. Save yourself the stress and choose another airline.

0/10 stars. Do not recommend. Charges more to change your flight than to book a whole new flight with someone else. No matter what they are just stealing your money. Doesn't matter what class of flight you have or how much money you have entrusted them with, there is always a $299 penalty fee to change your flight on top of the difference in cost of flight. Also no matter the type of ticket, no refunds for any reason. Absolutely terrible customer policies. First and last time I ever fly with them.
