I have been a loyal customer of American Airlines for over 20 years. Even over the last couple of years when service has declined I have remained faithful. This weekend has put an end to that. The final nail in the coffin. The total disrespect they showed for customers was unacceptable. Flights were canceled, even the pilots didn’t seem to know why they were being canceled, no compensation was offered, and luggage was lost or just left lying around in baggage claim. I will transfer all of my loyalty to another airline. I know this is really no big deal for American, after all I only have 300,000 miles with them, but the very fact that I am no big deal is why I am no longer going to patronize them.

March 5th 2025 To whom it concerns at American Airlines. I am attaching a letter to Emirates Airlines complimenting them with amazing award service on my flight from Chicago to New Delhi first class. I am an Executive Platinum flyer with the airlines and have noticed over the years how American Airlines has hit rock bottom as an airline and that of the level of bus service in the air with wings. I have never flown spirit but I have heard horrible things about Spirit and because of what I have heard, American is right there alongside. As I wrote to Emirates, because American, Delta and United are the only game in town for flying in the US, I am stuck with you but all over seas and abroad travel will never be done with American. I have wasted good money and get nothing in return from the carrier except to see the CEO and higher-ranking executive reaping the benefits of my dollars and that of other paying passengers. This was the most amazing flight I have ever flown even over private. I am an American Airline Executive Platinum flyer and I am totally embarrassed to even write my status with American. The American US airlines are truly substandard and flying on any of the airlines is like flying on a tacky crowded bus with wings. I have flown on many airlines around the world and by far Emirates is the best even over my flying with Cathay Pacific to and from US to Hong Kong in first class. Comparing first/ business class on any US airlines the cabins again are substandard to the cabins on Emirates. Economy class is like being in steerage. The worst of all is that, there is no meal service on any flight in the US. Coast to coast no food served except in first class. You might as well bring along a doggy bag because the food served in first class is at the level of a doggy bag or dining at a fast-food restaurant. I am now excited about flying Emirates again in the fall to Hong Kong with a stopover in Thailand/Bangkok. I have already inquired to flying the Airbus 380 first class. I want to thank representative Jorge for his help in suggestion with answering my question pertaining to my next journey on Emirates Having this total amazing flying experience, I will never fly overseas distances again with any carrier unless I can book a first class with Emirates. Since Emirates does not serve in the US, I will have to continue with American/Delta or United for flying only in the US.

True to form…after forcing us to gate check our stroller because the overhead storage was full….even though we boarded early…spoiler alert bins were less than half full when we departed which made for a wonderful flight with bags sliding back and forth in the bins for the whole flight… we arrived at the gate and our stroller was not there. They said “oh I guess they must have sent it to baggage claim.” For anyone who has traveled with small kids you don’t just tell a mom with two toddlers you’re SOL you have no stroller to get from the gate to baggage claim. They called us wheelchairs only to find out after waiting an obscene amount of time for them that they can’t transport children in them. Incompetence seems to be a mandatory job skill for American Airlines these days.

First, they delayed the flight (shocker). Then they forced me and nearly half of the flight to check their carry on because they did not have space. I told the gate attendant that I have a tight connection made even tighter by their delay and I really need to keep my carry on. They ignored this. I run my way over to my connecting flight and I tell the gate attendant there about the bag and ask them to check for it. They say “there’s still 15 mins, it will be there”. I land and come to find that they have indeed lost the bag they forced me to check. Bravo American Airlines, you’re terrible.

12/12 flights in the last 14 months with delays or cancellations that cause missed connections. and terrible customer service to go along with the missed connections is great- book with American Airlines if you like sleeping overnight in airports on a regular basis

I've only had horrific experiences with American Airlines. For example, today my flight was cancelled and I was told that it would take 15 or 20 minutes for my bag to arrive at baggage claim. It took over 2 hours.
