I am writing to express my disappointment regarding our recent travel experience with Air Canada during our first cruise, which was meant to be a memorable journey. Our troubles began on June 23, 2024, when we attempted to check in for our flight on June 24, only to discover that we could only check in for part of the journey. After spending an exhausting hour and ten minutes on hold, it became clear that the IT department needed to be involved. Despite having paid for our trip in full months in advance, the app unexpectedly requested an additional $218.00 before we could even board our flight. Upon arriving in Athens on June 25, we were dismayed to learn that our luggage had not made it onto the plane. We received a message stating that our bags would arrive the following day, June 26. Unfortunately, this timing was unhelpful as we were scheduled to leave the cruise port on June 25. We filed a report in Athens and provided our itinerary for the nine-day cruise, yet we found ourselves spending hours each day trying to reach Air Canada for updates, to no avail. It took six long days for our luggage to be returned, during which we had to wash our clothes in the shower each night. Despite purchasing travel insurance and reaching out to NCL for assistance, it felt as though every party involved was merely passing the blame to Air Canada. Since our return on July 4, 2024, I have continued to reach out for resolution, but it seems that no one is willing to take responsibility. I was shocked to learn that 16 other passengers on the same ship experienced similar issues, with some receiving their luggage within 24 hours while we were left to manage without ours for an entire week. It is truly disheartening to see how customer service has deteriorated, and I hope that you can address these concerns to prevent future travelers from facing similar challenges. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The WORST airline ever! Please you all avoid Air Canada if you don’t want to regret anything. I’ll never even advise my enemy to travel by air Canada.

Air Canada = Horrible. Just pray that nothing goes wrong with your flight because if it does you'll be out money. Period. They take no responsibility for problems THEY cause. Our flight from Detroit to Montreal was delayed 5 hours do to engine trouble... and so we were going to miss our big international flight. After 8 hours of being stuck in the Detroit airport AirCanada did absolutely NOTHING for us. We had to talk to ten different agents to re-book through a different carrier, but then could not get out the same day. So we had to spend the night in a hotel and miss a day of our planned vacation. AirCanada will NOT reimburse us for any of these additional costs. They were caused by their flight delay, but they took ZERO RESPONSIBILITY. When I politely asked why I should have to pay for these extra costs, I had three different customer support agents from Ari Canada simply HANG UP on me. This is the level of customer service that you can expect from this horrible company

I have had the opportunity to unfortunately go through Air Canada baggage at Detroit Metro multiple times this year. The line usually takes long, and the baggage space seems smaller than it should be, but those aren't my major complaints. During a flight from Detroit to Toronto (a layover flight), we had to have COVID requirements shown, as we were heading to Japan. The lady at the front sees our requirements and then says she cannot accept them, as they have to be written. This made absolutely no sense, and trying to contact anyone from Air Canada or the tour we were going with said that that wasn't the case. After being held up for a while, she randomly lets us through. We though we would be running late a little, so we bolted to our gate. In actuality we weren't, but then our plane went through a security check, as a "suspicious item" was found aboard. Adding another hour that was wasted. Also, when boarding the plane, I showed the wrong ticket and the lady scanning the tickets (same one as earlier), grabbed the tickets very forcefully out of my hands. Not cool.

Every other airline at least allows passengers to check thief baggage if you arrive at the airport early. Not Air Canada! Everyone else moving along 3 hours ahead of a flight. Able to go thru customs, have lunch, etc. But because (and before) Covid this company can’t seem to get it together ( was locked in a flight from Montreal in 2022 because the employee went home with the key) their customers suffer. Only decent thing is twice I’ve received free flights because of Air Canada’s incompetence.
