Free 2-hour courtesy car if you gas more than 20 gallons, otherwise it would be 20 charge. Still efficient service, and the staff was friendly.

I am incredibly frustrated with the Yuba County Airport. The county has prohibited all ultralight activity in violation of FAA Grant Assurance 22. By accepting more than $4M in FAA AIP grants, the county agreed to keep the airport available "for public use on reasonable terms and without unjust discrimination to all types, kinds, and classes of aeronautical activities..." As a commercial pilot and former flight instructor, I support disciplinary action against any reckless airport user, whether they are flying an airplane, or an ultralight. However, the blanket ban on ultralights is illegal, discriminatory, and it infringes upon my own right to safely operate an ultralight at the Yuba County Airport. Update: On April 11, 2023, the FAA informed the airport manager that, "... the County was supposed to take measures that would allow ultralight aircraft to operate on the airport. To date, FAA has not received any correspondence identifying steps or measures that would allow this activity on the airport. The County's inaction is not consistent with its Federal obligations. Based on the facts presented, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has determined that the County is operating the airport in a manner inconsistent with its applicable federal obligations, due to its restriction on ultralight activity." The FAA demanded that the County develop a corrective action plan under threat of "initiation of FAA enforcement action through the issuance of a notice of investigation." It pains me to think about how much time and tax-payer dollars the county has spent to infringe upon the rights of certain aeronautical users. The county has also exposed itself to at least one lawsuit and put further FAA grants at risk. Maybe the county could instead make a good-faith effort to make the available to all aeronautical users?

Airport manager has banned certain aircraft from flying there.. Unfortunately the airport is publicly funded and therefor his “personal” feelings and restrictions bear no weight. Hopefully the FAA resolves the ego power trip of these clowns.

Great airport with large runways and a wonderful crosswind Runway. The airport manager is a great guy, and Yuba Sutter Aviation on the west side is an amazing shop to do business with and to work for!
