Okay so I have been going to this gym for a bit, and I gathered a few pros and cons. Pros: 1. The welcoming atmosphere The front desk people are very welcoming, and are so nice! I had a little bit of trouble finding where the entrance was when I was coming here for the first time, and I called the front desk and they were so helpful. All the questions I asked, were answered and in a polite manner 2. The diverse community Overall, this YMCA has all ages of people, I have seen toddlers but have also seen elderly. There are lots of teens especially in the weight rooms and basketball court. I would definitely say this a good place to socialize and make yourself a friend! 3. The variety of activities and machines This YMCA has tons of machines, it has two weight rooms, a stretch room (18+), and a circuit room. Both weight rooms have so many machines and I was surprised to see that they have a hip thrust machine which is definitely fun to hear! Also there are a wide range of activities such as court sports including but not limited to: squash, pickleball, racquetball, basketball, etc. There are also two pools, one that is supposedly small but I find it average size, and another pool that is Olympic sized (aka the large pool.) They also offer a swim team for ages 6 to highschool! And also they offer a sauna which is located in the adult locker rooms! 4. Affordability Depending on the membership you pick, it will vary the prices obviously. However, the prices seem to be quite affordable and the membership includes everything, (pool, machines, circuit room, indoor track, boxing room, athletic performance lab, court sports, etc.) Cons: 1. The building could use some remodeling The building is not as modern as it could be, you pay for what you get. This place definitely has an old school vibe, which I personally do not see as a negative thing, but I can see how some people may not appreciate this. 2. Hard to find entrance First time you may have trouble figuring out where to enter but they will help you! And after you find it, it just becomes habit. If you park in the parking deck it’s basically right next to the parking deck! So I can see how that’s convenient. Overall a very good place, it’s quite affordable and I would recommend all the activities it has to offer! This place is my favorite, and I love how it’s surrounded by so many restaurants, places to go, and even a Pilates!

I cancelled my membership today because the monthly fee is getting too expensive. The basic monthly fee $69 on top of $1.10 daily parking fee is too much for a gym. I'm spending about $90 a month. This is not NYC. This is NJ. But don't get me wrong. This facility is clean, well maintained and staff is friendly.

I’ve enjoyed being a member over the last two months. The gym has almost all the equipment I need (regular weights, squat rack, assault bike, cardio machines, TRX ropes, bikes etc) and the staff does a good job of keeping things organized and clean. I haven’t had any issues with overcrowding, and the adult open swim hours are very reasonable so it’s not too hard to get a swim in. My one wish is that they would open the high performance room to all members, not just accessible to people getting private lessons. There’s equipment there like the sleds and turf area that I’d like to use without paying for a trainer.

What I’ve appreciated over the years—both in the past and present—as a member is the consistent welcoming atmosphere. When my sons were toddlers through their young adulthood, there were always plenty of kid- and family-friendly activities, from swimming lessons to family swim nights. We also benefited from other great offerings like child care and summer camp. For my husband and me, we especially enjoyed the adult amenities, including the weight room, swimming classes, and a wide variety of exercise classes.

I will preface with saying we have never attended - I signed my daughter up for swimming classes, and was told that class is being canceled due to low enrollment by Claire in Aquatics. I asked if we can switch to another class, did not hear anything back, so I asked for a refund. That was over a month ago. I have emailed and called many times to no avail. Someone tried to put me in touch with the manager Tammy. I have left several voicemails to both and still no response. All I want is a refund, and no one seems to be able to do anything about it other than directing me to people who don’t pick up their calls or answer emails.
