This free museum has the Wright Brothers “B” Flyer and is operated by volunteers. This is a later version that was produced to hold 2 people. They are only open to the public on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9:00am to 12:30pm. This is a short window of opportunity, so plan ahead. They actually have a total of 3 flyers in that small hangar along with 2 Model T Fords. One of the Flyers was actually from the movie ‘The Winds of Kitty Hawk’. There is one called the Brown Bird which first flew in 1981. The last one is the White Bird which had its first flight in 2022. This is a living museum, so expect a little dust or grime around. Though they haven’t gotten permission to take customers up on flights (in the works), they will let you sit in the Brown Bird. You can get a feel for what it must have been like and get your picture taken as well. They also have a small store here, but if you don’t purchase anything, then I ask that you leave a donation for them. They have a very unique pen that turns into a small plane which I'm definitely going to get in my son. They also have a passport stamp, which you can get for the Dayton Aviation Heritage Trail.

My grandparents are having their last trip to Ohio, where they grew up. We all visited this museum for the first time today and they both had a blast! Our greeters/guides were very helpful and patient with my grandparents and it is a very interesting little building!

Very informative and well organized non-profit museum run by a passionate group of volunteers. The displays are well maintained and thoughtfully arranged. I happened to stop by while they were working on one of the flyers getting it ready for a flight. All of the staff were extremely friendly and willing to answer any questions about the Wright Brothers and aviation in general. It is a really neat museum that celebrates 2 of Dayton's hometown heroes who were instrumental to aviation.
