I like flying into and out of Reagan. It's close to downtown DC, and they now have a metro stop here which facilitates transport options. My flight was delayed like four times so I just stayed at my friend's Super Bowl party later. The line for security was empty at 11pm. It took me like five minutes from the time I walked into the airport till I passed TSA to the gate section. Smooth and easy.

HORRIBLE experience this time. Terminal 1, A gates…GOOD LUCK if you’re a woman looking to pee. First off, this terminal only has 2 bathrooms with five-six stalls in each. Today, one of the bathrooms decided to be closed/broken. Do better DCA.

I have been living blissfully unaware of how terrible this place is. Terminal 2 is really nice. Terminal 1 is abysmal. Terminal 2 has restrooms and nice places to sit and eat. Terminal 1 has one restroom for men and two for women... The restaurants are all overpriced and only one (inexplicably expensive) has a place to sit. Should you find yourself in line for food, some places will now require you to scan a QR code to get a slice of terrible pizza... But to get a drink, you will need to use the self-serve kiosks for the hallway shop that has a wide range of beverages you will not want. And you will line up for the privilege of overpaying. You cannot even clear security in Terminal 1 and visit the restaurants in Terminal 2 without leaving and reclearing security. Of course, if you are an arrival, you cannot get into the main hall for something to eat at all. I get this is an historic terminal, but it is barely functional and woefully behind modern airport standards. Next time, if my work requires me to fly Southwest or Frontier, I will probably fly to Dulles instead. The inconvenience and frustration of this terminal are simply not acceptable.

No signs for Southwest Airlines terminal. It's on the south end of terminal 1. TSA here very rude, their machine ate my wallet then they berated me. There were no plastic pans. DCA ruder than Chicago.

Flew in early morning. Smooth, easy.
