There were fires in, and near LA, air was smoky, where I was staying was quite comfortable though. A little worried, but okay.

Enjoyed my trip on the Amtrak..Nice,quiet,hidden station parallel to the beach. Walking distance to great food, bars, entertainment and across the street from the Players Casino.

Great way to get around. Free parking at the fairgrounds. Short walk to the beach or downtown. The city has done a great job cleaning up this neighborhood.

Dark station with no protected sitting area. Full of drug addicts shooting up heroin leaving syringes on the ground. Amtrak was late, and there was no place to go. Isolated part of town and it took 28 minutes to get an Uber. There were no taxis that came by.
