My Experience with the University of Phoenix — Disappointed and Heartbroken I never imagined I’d be writing a review like this, but I feel it's important to share my experience. I enrolled at the University of Phoenix with high hopes and full trust in the promises they made about support, flexibility, and opportunities. I was motivated, determined, and fully committed to furthering my education and building a better future. Unfortunately, that trust was completely misplaced. Once my financial aid ran out, the support I thought I had completely vanished. I applied for multiple scholarships — many of which were promoted or recommended by the university — but I never received any help or follow-up. When I turned to the financial department for assistance, I was met with indifference. I was told, plainly, to "figure it out." There was no guidance, no willingness to work with me, no alternative solutions — just a cold shutdown. After investing time, energy, and money, I was effectively pushed out of the school the moment I couldn’t continue to pay. It felt transactional and heartless. This experience has not only set me back financially but has also deeply shaken my faith in higher education institutions. I believed in this school and its mission, but what I got was broken promises and a door slammed in my face when I needed help the most. To anyone considering the University of Phoenix: please be cautious. Ask hard questions. Don’t just believe the marketing and sales pitch. I wish I had known the reality before committing so much of my life and future.

Junk. Everything was great with my enrolment then I dealt with registration and had a reality check. They flat out said they wouldn’t fill my loan documents despite being on a list of institutions that accept student loans. ‘Can’t fill the program information form,’ was what the registration office said. Thanks for letting me know in advance how inept U of P hires

I’m graduating in less than a month. Nearly with honors. Worked my butt off. I was So excited to start my masters soon. Then I see the way my husband gets treated after he’s trying to get access to funds that have already been dispersed… but getting absolutely no help, being lied to numerous times. To be back at square one today. I had planned to do my masters here… I doubt that’s going to happen anymore. This is absolutely absurd. I’ll happily go somewhere else due to this, even if it means less convenience for me.

Avoid Phoenix University at All Costs I’m writing this review because Phoenix University allowed someone to fraudulently enroll using my stolen identity. Despite the severity of this issue, I’ve been the one jumping through endless hoops. Having to file police reports, submitting documentation, and contacting multiple departments to try and fix something that should have never happened in the first place. The fact that this enrollment was approved without proper identity verification is beyond negligent. The emotional and mental toll this has taken on me over the past few months is something no one should have to endure. I’m still dealing with CRI trying to get this cleared. NO ONE SHOULD EVER HAVE TO PAY BACK A LOAN THEY NEVER BORROWED!!!!! And not to mention what this has done for my credit. And the root of it all traces back to Phoenix University’s failure to do their due diligence. This has been an incredibly stressful and exhausting experience. I urge anyone considering this institution to think twice. Protect yourself and look elsewhere. I have never enrolled or attended Phoenix University I can only imagine how you treat your actual students.

My Admissions Counselor Tiana Boos is the best! Thanks to her, I’m all set and enrolled in classes. I love this school!

I was completely misled by the university regarding the transfer of credits, specifically those earned through Sophia.org. I was assured these credits would be accepted and count toward my degree, allowing me to save time and money. Now, after enrolling and committing to this institution, I've been told these credits are not transferable (or not transferable as promised). This bait-and-switch has caused a massive setback, and I am now unable to get my Associate's degree. The lack of clear, honest communication about transfer eligibility, especially for widely accepted platforms like Sophia.org, is highly disappointing. I urge any prospective students not to waste time taking extra classes

It's allowed me to be a wife, a mother & a student with great instructors and great leadership! CACREP accredited for counseling is knowing I am in a school where people recognize their quality of education.

As I approach the completion of my Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, I can honestly say that my experience with the University of Phoenix has been nothing short of excellent. The flexible online learning format allowed me to balance my studies with work and personal life , which is something traditional universities often can’t match. The instructors are knowledgeable professionals who bring real-world experience into the classroom, making every lesson practical and applicable to today’s cybersecurity field. The curriculum is well-structured , focusing on the latest technologies, security frameworks, and hands-on concepts that prepare students for real challenges in IT and cybersecurity. The support system.- from academic advisors to the Center for Writing Excellence, has been outstanding, always providing quick help when needed. Overall, the University of Phoenix has helped me grow both academically and professionally. I’m proud to be part of this community and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a flexible, career-focused education.

My experience with the University of Phoenix has been nothing short of amazing. From admissions counselors to academic advisors, everyone has been incredibly supportive. They helped me save money by transferring my previous credits, recommending alternative courses to speed up my progress, and making sure I qualified for grants. Because of their guidance, I’m even able to graduate earlier than I expected. As a single mom working 2 jobs, I needed a school that understood real life responsibilities. This college has given me the flexibility to work at my own pace without feeling overwhelmed or stressed out. The structure of the classes fits perfectly into my busy life without sacrificing my family or work. This school is truly for the working adults. Anytime I had a question or concern, all I had to do was make a simple phone call. Everything was handled with the highest level of professionalism, and they always made the process easy and stress-free. Honestly, this school was my last hope. I felt stuck in life and wasn’t sure what direction to take. After doing my research, I chose the University of Phoenix — and I’m so glad I did. I even told my admissions counselor that I’ve never been so excited or happy about going back to college. I am 7 classes away to getting my Bachelor Degree. Choosing UOPX has truly been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. If I could give them 10 stars, I absolutely would. Give it a try — you won’t regret it.
