One of the Worst Airline Experiences – Avoid Turkish Airlines! I had one of the most disappointing flight experiences ever with Turkish Airlines. The service was terrible — the cabin crew seemed uninterested and unhelpful throughout the flight. The food was awful and completely unjustified considering how expensive the ticket was. What shocked me the most was the aircraft itself. For a long-haul international flight, they used an old, cramped, and uncomfortable plane that looked like it hadn’t been updated in decades. The seats were tight, with very little legroom, and it was extremely difficult to sit comfortably for such a long journey. In-flight entertainment was outdated and very limited. Overall, the entire experience felt like a budget airline but at premium prices. I definitely won’t be flying with Turkish Airlines again. There are far better options out there with newer planes, better food, and much more professional service.

Delayed flight to Istanbul on April 2023 more than 4 hours during the day. Missed my flight connection in Istanbul. Put me in a crappy “Ever”hotel to wait until next day. Personal on board could not give any meaningful advice about what to do if you arrive late and miss your connection. English Language skills of the crew are not so great. The information from the cabin crew about the delay was very short and no details or explanations of plans of handling the situation were given. Turkish airlines used to be better before but now I doubt.

I just got ambushed and ripped off by Turkish Airlines at the Houston airport. I was charged $500 for two excess bags. This was when I only checked in one box with a framed poster weighing less than 20lbs. On a business class ticket, I had expected to be allowed 3 suitcases of about 60 or 70 lbs. I had my roll aboard and laptop bag and the 20 lbs box with the poster. The manager told me that even though I was allowed 3 bags since this was 4ft by 3ft by 2 inches he was required to charge me for 2 excess bags. I protested strongly that my daughter and I were checking no bags and traveling with only roll aboard, but at the airport now with 2 hours to the flight boarding I was cornered. The manager said it would have been much cheaper if I would have sent it as cargo. He tried to sell it as the premium to be paid for them caring for the box and protecting the frame from being broken. Their website for Turkish airlines baggage calculator was also not working so I was trapped As I wait for the flight, I am seething at being violated and forced to pay for one 20lbs box when my tickets allowed us over 300 lbs between my daughter and me. $500 is a total rip off. No idea where I can see their rules about having only one oversize but low weight box instead of the 5 suitcases - and how that translates to 2 oversized fees. I had wrapped the poster and frame into cling wrap and tied it with bungee cords otherwise it was 14lbs. If this is how they treat a business class passenger, i wonder what they would have tried if I was economy
