We were traveling from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale and booked a flight with Spirit Airlines. One of the biggest advantages of flying Spirit is its budget-friendly fares, making air travel accessible to travelers. However, the low fares come with disadvantages. Only one personal item is included in the base fare; additional charges apply for carry-on bags, checked luggage, and in-flight refreshments. Customer service can be hit or miss, depending on the staff on duty. That said, for short travel, Spirit remains a convenient and cost-effective option for those looking to save.

They lost our car seat and it took an hour for baggage to get unloaded. You will not save money with this airline. It is the bait and switch. You have to pay for everything including carry on and if you have never flown with them you are put in a lower group and treated as you are beneath them. Does not seem like a way to attract new customers to me but who knows the flight was bookes

I flew Spirit for the first time and I'm very happy with my choice. Other airlines only fly on certain days or had too many stops before my destination. Spirit was a nonstop flight and everything went very well. I will fly Spirit again. Very satisfied.

Absolutely worst case scenario experience. We were at the gate and boarding at the end, when my son had a bathroom emergency. We ran back to the bathrooms which are pretty close. Once he finished up, we ran back and saw it turning 6:45p and them closing the gates in front of us about 30m or so. We ran to catch up and mentioned we had to take my son to the bathroom. The gate sign still said boarding for the next 1.5 minutes, as she walked over and started typing on the machine. Since we had just walked up as the door closed and it still said boarding, I figured she was just making sure we were accounted for on the flight. As I say there nearing 2 minutes, it switched to departed, which had me sweating because my brother's rehearsal dinner is at 4pm and we were supposed to arrive at 8:45a with plenty of time. Well, after several minutes she said she rescheduled us to 5:25p landing, so as the best man, I'll be missing that dinner.... The plane sat there another 18 minutes before moving. Moral of the story, if you're taking Spirit and your child has to go to the bathroom with 25m left to departure, let them crap their pants so you can board. Doing spirit the favor of having your child crap in the right place could cost you your brother's wedding rehearsal dinner presence. Great logic,Spirit. Good to know. Twice I've walked up to doors that had just shut in 27 years of travel, with over 10m before departure and never had an issue since like this time, even inside people were still entering the plane. I did a favor by being careful, but I wish I let my son simply crap on Spirit's seats. It would have ruined the flight for nearby folks, but at least we'd all get to the destination and I wouldn't be dealing with a family that may be angry beyond belief...

My family and I needed to get to Baltimore Maryland with only short notice. That means that we were looking for a good deal,an affordable deal for ten people! My daughter discovered, with a bit of research that Spirit Airlines had some amazing deals that would make our trip to Baltimore Maryland a feasible one. We were pleased and excited to make reservations for eight of us at $159.00 each! We immediately started packing and planning for our trip. We used large backpacks to pack our clothes and other necessary items. That worked out great so that there was no charge for luggage and we had everything that we needed at our fingertips. I highly recommend Spirit Airlines to anyone who needs to travel with affordable and reliable service.
