Don’t take this flight if you have a carry-on. They’ll hit you with a $99 charge at the gate for the carry-on, even though I tried to pay for it during self-check-in—but there’s no option! Spirit just wants to trap you into paying extra for bags. Even after I paid for the carry-on (for a 22” bag), the gate agents still told me it had to be checked. Why even have a sign saying "carry-on baggage size" if they don’t honor it? The staff ignored me when I asked questions. They acted like they had power over me, but I wasn’t about to start a fight. Still, these people need some serious customer service training. Passengers like us are paying their wages while the company squeezes us for every penny. This was my first and last time flying Spirit.

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience on Spirit Airlines at Orlando and Atlanta. I was assured my child’s brand-new booster seat would be waiting at the ATL terminal. Instead, the representative (looking for a green tag she didn’t have) printed a baggage claim ticket and checked it under the aircraft without my consent. When I arrived in Atlanta, the booster was missing. After waiting at baggage claim late at night, it finally appeared — damaged. I immediately reported the damage in person at baggage claim and was given a card and phone number to follow up. Despite this timely reporting, my claim has been denied twice under the “4-hour policy,” even though staff gave instructions at the airport within the 4-hour window. This was a late flight arriving past 9 p.m., and the staff appeared eager to close for the night. This shows a serious lack of preparedness, accountability, customer care, and proper handling of passengers’ belongings. I trusted Spirit Airlines with my child’s brand-new safety seat and was left frustrated, inconvenienced, and out the cost of a damaged item. I hope Spirit Airlines takes this feedback seriously and improves its handling of checked items and its claims process.

Definitely do not take your chances with this airline. Every time we make the mistake, we regret it. I’m sitting at the airport waiting on my family to get off a flight that was supposed to be an hour and a half five hours later we’re sitting around waiting. Cattle car - it’s like they’re schlepping livestock 🐄 they treated that way too from the top to bottom

Plane was delayed 5 hours last night. They gave us meal vouchers and none of the restaurants we went to accepted the voucher. We did not receive a list of places that accepted the voucher, we had to wait in line at restaurants and turned away. Bit the bullet and just paid cash for food. Now! We did receive a $30 travel credit, and staff on plane were cool.

They are very rude and just sitting around doing nothing when passengers are waiting to be assisted. Keno male in pic was so nasty that I left to go to another airline to purchase ticket. Another lady came to me and took another passenger behind me after I had been waiting for service!!

I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone talks about how terrible Spirit is. I honestly don’t like most airlines these days but that’s a different story. Took the first flight out, wasn’t overly packed. I think this helped my experience. I needed a quick cheap flight and only traveled with my bookbag that fits the personal item size. I’m a very good packer so I got 5 days worth of stuff in my bag. While the staff could use some service training, no one disrespected me or made me feel unwelcome. I flew from Atlanta to Detroit. Everyone was quiet and chill. Likely because it was a 6am flight and who got beef at 6am? It was very clean and the air in the cabin didn’t make me sick. They didn’t try to freeze us to death either. My last couple of delta flights have been below average. I think for flights 2 hours and under domestic, Spirit is great (only because yall regular cabin got office chair seats and they hurt after a while with not cushion). If the flight is longer I suggest going for the big seats up front. I took the last flight out to return and the only hiccup was a last minute gate change. Staff also needs to work on being clear with announcements. People were boarding a Boston flight thinking it was Atlanta Also, pro tip, unless you are getting one of the big seats or I think premium, don’t pay for a seat assignment. Let them assign you one, board a little late and pick a row in economy that is empty. An empty row feels like a big seat and if your like me and don’t like sitting next to people this is a free way to do so. Oh and I don’t generally check luggage so I can’t comment on all the extra fees. But after looking at everything if you fly more than twice a year get one of they subscriptions with whatever perks you like. Bring your own snacks, download a book, movie or music to your phone and bring witless headphones and you’ll be fine
