Horrible experience. Attempted to check in on 9/10/25 for flight 3127 to Cartegena, Columbia. Spoke to kiosk rep first and later proceeded to counter. Counter rep very slowly reviewed and scanned my documents then scanned my bag. After a few minutes, she tells me I cannot get on the flight. Stated that my bag was scanned 2 minutes late and the flight was boarding. She was rude, indifferent, unhelpful. I noted to her that I was onsite at the counter before the cutoff speaking with Spirit staff (which she witnessed). Very nonchalantly and insensitively, she told me to rebook and pay a rebooking fee. No other options given. I requested to take my luggage (1 paid checked bag) to the gate for the agents to directly check the bag at the gate. She refused to print my boarding pass and told me I could not do that. She was unconcerned, no eye contact. Could care less. She told me to come back the next day. Would not connect me to other flights or airlines.I asked to speak to her supervisor and questioned why I could not have my pass to go through TSA. She responded, " I don't think they will let you do that". Said Cartegena only had incoming flights in the morning for airlines!! The rep said you had to be in the country by a certain time which is not true. I had family on the flight who let me know that the flight was delayed to come to gate. Spent $300 additional on United I had 45 minutes- 1 hr to reach the gate and check my bag there. The rep refused to assist. I was marked as a no show because she would not print my boarding pass. My family informed me that the flight did not leave ontime. I had time to reach the gate. The rep cost me time, money and grave inconvenience. I want a refund ($55) for the checked bag and a refund on the flight and the additional flight I had to purchase because of their bad customer service and assistance. I called Spirit. 1 rep saved my return flight that was about to be automatically cancelled!! Transferred me to a manager because he was not authorized to give reimbursements. I held 1 hour to speak to someone and he said he was not authorized to help and HE WAS A MANAGER!!!. He said go online to the chat. Useless. I booked a 1 way with United (over $300) for the same day to reach Cartegena. This Spirit rep caused a financial and emotional burden. There was no customer service or service recovery. I will never fly or recommend Spirit. I could have successfully made the flight. Usually airlines help clients make their flights. This rep blocked this. There were 3 other people at the counter just staring. I have never had such a horrific airline experience. I have flown many airlines, rarely Spirit. I usually fly American. I will stick with them.

I had one of the worst travel experiences of my life with Spirit Airlines. I booked an entire one-week trip to Punta Cana, paying for both my flight and hotel. When I arrived at the Philadelphia airport, the Spirit Airlines staff were completely unknowledgeable and unprofessional. The agent at the counter didn’t even know what a U.S. permanent resident card (Green Card) was. She acted confused, called her supervisor, and instead of checking official guidelines or even searching online, they both insisted that I couldn’t board my flight. They treated my Green Card as if it were just a regular ID or driver’s license, not a legal document proving permanent residency in the United States. Because of their ignorance, I missed my flight and was extremely stressed after an entire week of travel planning. While they refunded me, that doesn’t make up for the anxiety and inconvenience I went through. To make things worse, I later booked a new flight to Newark Airport with United Airlines, and they had absolutely no issues — they verified my documents properly, were professional, and treated me with respect. Spirit Airlines needs to train their staff better and educate them about international travel requirements, especially what a Green Card is. No passenger should ever have to go through this type of situation because of an airline’s lack of knowledge.

I wouldn't not recommend to use this airline company. They would cancel/change your flight and there is no way you can get back your money. If changed flight will be cheaper, they'll charge the rest of your balance you have previously paid to fees. I which I didn't listen to my friends and would pay more to get quality service without fraud.

I understand that airlines have policies, and I was fully aware of the cancellation policy for the Value travel option. However, my experience with Spirit Airlines was extremely disappointing. When I reached out to address my concern, the representative left the chat abruptly without resolving my issue or offering any real guidance. This is not the level of professionalism or customer care I expect from any company, especially when dealing with a time-sensitive travel matter. Spirit offered me a $100 voucher and a $10 credit, but since I will never travel with Spirit Airlines again, these “credits” are essentially useless and will be lost — an easy way to take customers’ money without truly resolving the issue. Policies are important, but so is respectful communication and a genuine effort to help customers navigate their options. In my case, the lack of courtesy, dismissive handling of my situation, and the empty offer of credits made an already stressful circumstance much worse. I hope Spirit Airlines reviews how their agents handle customer interactions and focuses on improving communication, empathy, and professionalism

Guys at the counter were joking around, didnt want to help me check my bags, and when they finally got it, they tell me I'm too late to check the bags and gotta pay 100 dollars more to rebook a flight that would take 17 hours when I booked a 4 hour flight. They marked me as a no show, and now the airline is telling me thay I'm SOL. Luckily I have plenty of credits with other airlines and was able to get another flight on time. Very useless when it comes to getting actual customer support.
