Marshall and Ian were great instructors. If you don’t have thick skin and can’t take the consecutive criticism that has sassiness to it, this isn’t the place you want to get your course done at. Marshall and Ian have a lot of experience so they won’t sugar coat it when you mess up, but it’s just because they genuinely want you to be a safe rider and not die or get injured when you’re actually ready for the road. I was the only female in my group this weekend and I completed my course successfully and I can’t wait to get on a bike again and get more practice in.

If you're a newby to motorcycles, or don't enjoy instructional methods centered around patronization and condescension, take your money elsewhere. Marhsall is fine, but Ian seems to enjoy "teaching" (and using that word is being generous) by using patronizing rhetorical questions like you're a 5th grader. "Do you believe you go where you look? Then why didn't you look? We're only allotted 15 minutes for this exercise, and we gave y'all 20, so why didn't you get it right? You gotta start listening and following directions. I've been riding for 20 years, why can't you just get it right now?" Well, it's because I haven't got all the mechanics of riding the bike integrated, yet. So, get a buddy to school you up a bit on the basics before you go and possibly throw away your cash with these guys. There's not much time to master the skills, and some of them aren't easy, and the format is "description," "demonstration," "practice." But, if you don't get it in the time allotted, you're going to be hosed for the practical exam. I would have tried again, but I'm not putting up with Ian's shitty attitude again.

I recently completed the MSF course at Southwest Motorcycle Training. This Course is very well-organized & included a great deal of practical information & actual riding experience. The instructors, Marshall & Mike, were extremely competent & patient, provide clear instruction, in a very supportive environment, for improving riding skills & maximizing safety. This course is indispensable for a beginner rider, but even benificial for an experienced rider. It’s obvious the instructors have a great deal of experience both riding & teaching, and generouly shared their wisdom. This was a great course & I certainly would recommend it.

Man I don’t know what that Chris guy was talking about in the other review from to years ago but I went here around that time and man these guys are not only cool but they were helpful, they it seemed like they wanted us to pass (even tho they say they didn’t care because it’s up to us if we want to pass) but they were cool coaches and they weren’t rude they just don’t sugar code nothing, that told us how things were in black and blue. If you want to have a good chance of getting your motorcycle endorsement I would definitely recommend this place. I RIDE A HARLEY!🏍🏍💨
