My experience with Southwest Airlines was relaxing, and was certainly a more serviceable airline in comparison to Frontier Airlines, which I have persisted to use monotonously in my travels over the years. When it comes to this airline's layout, they still allow you to choose your seat, despite assigned seating coming later in 2026 with the airline. The seats were also more comfortable and you got additional legroom contrary to other major airlines such as American and United in addition to the alleged Frontier and Spirit Airlines that are infamous for their policies. Another plus of flying was the ability to get free checked bags. While they have changed this policy, I was able to get my only checked parcel of luggage for free, because of me being grandfathered into the clause before the changes ensued on May 28th, 2025. Despite this, Southwest is still one of the best airlines with this policy. Flying from Denver to Philadelphia, there was one significant drawback to this flight. This major setback involved the service at the baggage carousel. It was extremely slow to get out all of the checked baggage from the airplane, as it took nearly half an hour to do such properly, but they did such with duty and general safety compared to other airlines. Overall, despite the changes to the airline recently, it is still a more affordable and desirable airline in comparison to the other luxury American airlines, and still fits well for the 21st Century Middle-Class traveler. I will fly again.

They changed their hours and never updated their website. Showed up to pickup live animals at 11pm, but they closed at 10. I traveled 2.5 hours to get there. Had to get a hotel room for 4 hours, to go back at 5am to pickup the animals. Update your website!!!!!!

Excellent experience on both ends. Flight attendants were awesome, very friendly and welcoming. Clean, super clean.

A-List Unite - No More – The LUV Is Falling: A Disturbance in the Force at Southwest For many years, I remained steadfast. Through countless flights and relentless dedication, I earned A-List Preferred—status not given, but forged. To Southwest, I gave my loyalty, my trust, my presence in the skies. And now... betrayal. At first, only whispers in the void—changes to the sacred open seating, dark murmurs of the end of “Two Bags Fly Free.” Ripples in the Force, barely felt. But all signs of a greater darkness to come. Then came the strike that shattered the bond: the devaluation of Wanna Get Away points by 67%. A brutal, calculated act. In one swift blow, years of loyalty turned to ash. For those of us bound by company fare restrictions, this was no mere policy shift—it was exile. Status became illusion. Reward, a phantom. This was the moment Southwest turned from the light. This was the decision it ceased to be the airline of LUV for me—and became something else. Something... hollow. The principles that once made them strong—flexibility, fairness, appreciation—abandoned. All that will remain is a shell, echoing with the ghosts of what once was. But I do not fall. I evolve. There is hope in the outer rim. Delta. American. United. Alaska. They sense the disruption. They reach out to the disillusioned, offering sanctuary through status match. There, your loyalty still matters. There, your journey continues. I will rise again—under a banner that remembers what true connection means. As for Southwest’s new leadership? Their path is clear. Short-term gain. Long-term loss. Like a Sith, they choose power over purpose. I have seen this before. It never ends well. This is not mere disappointment. It is a reckoning. The LUV is dying.

During covid this place was hell to go to indirect rude behavior.

Most of the airlines in Cargo City outsource their staffing. Not so with Southwest. It really makes a difference in terms of the quality of the workforce there and their professional demeanor. When brokers reach out to me, I always recommend that they use Southwest. I hope Southwest doesn't change their successful recipe.
