I heard good things about this airline for years. Supposedly, they and Japan Air rank at the very top. My mother comes from Malaysia, so we've flown back there a few times, although never with Singapore Airlines. Well, we finally got that chance about a month ago. We decided to bite the bullet and endure a lengthy flight from LAX to Singapore, which they said was 16 hours long. In reality, the flight only took 15 hours, so I guess they're doing something right. Also, the lady who sat in front of us was Indonesian and she swore she never used other airlines anymore besides this one. The customer service was really good; all of their staff seemed happy and polite. They give decent food. Nothing really special since all airlines order from a supplier. Huge portions; there's dessert served with every meal. However, my dad complained the seats were too packed. I noticed this as well. I think if we were to fly again, I would have to book Premium Economy ones. Plus, the plane stank like a bathroom... Not very pleasant. We flew SA a second time back to LAX just a few hours ago. This time, the plane was newer, and they offered chicken wraps between meals. Not sure I'd use SA again, but if I were to go back to MY or Sing I probably would, since Malaysian Airlines stopped flying out of LAX.

I had heard great things about Singapore Airlines, especially their business class service and comfort, which is why I chose to book my flight with them. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet those expectations—particularly as an older passenger with knee pain and limited mobility. The business class seats on the long-haul flights (Los Angeles to Singapore and back) were surprisingly cramped and poorly designed for anyone who isn’t very flexible. The seating required me to sit at an angle, and it was difficult to stretch my legs forward. For someone with stiff joints, this setup was very uncomfortable. On the shorter legs (Singapore to Kochi and back), the seating allowed me to stretch out more comfortably, which was a noticeable improvement. As for the food, I had requested a South Indian vegetarian meal, but what I received bore little resemblance to South Indian cuisine. It tasted more like an odd, flavorless mix than a thoughtfully prepared meal. I was left feeling hungry most of the time, and while I had been told that snacks would be available throughout the flight, I was never offered any. When I finally asked, I was handed a packet of chips—the worst I’ve ever had. The cabin crew appeared rushed and impersonal. While they wore smiles, they felt rehearsed and not genuinely attentive. It was difficult to get their full attention, and at no point did anyone explain that snacks were available in the galley or that I could help myself. As a first-time flyer with Singapore Airlines, I would have appreciated more guidance and proactive service. Overall, this was not the comfortable or premium experience I was expecting from a highly rated airline. I hope they consider improving the comfort and communication aspects of their business class service—especially for older travelers who may need a little extra consideration.

I had such a positive experience flying with Singapore airlines to Japan that I transferred 150,000 miles to the airline. I ultimately travel to five countries in Asia with Singapore airlines. Unlike other airlines I’ve flown with, Customer service is excellent, food is good, and baggage allotments are generous. I would fly with them again, even if it means paying a bit more than other airlines.

I have flown economy all around the county and I’ve also flown business class on Swiss Air, El Al. Air France and Delta. This was my first experience flying in an international airlines in first class. And, yes, there is a big difference from economy to business class, and in my experience, a big difference from Business Class to First Class. I’m sure I would have been perfectly happy in business class, but it was full when we booked our tickets. I round trip first class from LAX to Narita, Japan, arriving home last week, It’s not going to be easy to go back to American Airlines after this phenomenal experience. There were only 4 seats in first class both ways. Each of us had two flight attendants catering to all requests. I was extremely happy with absolutely everything! I was quite surprised on my return trip to hear the passenger next to me request the exact year of each bottle of wine offered. The flight attendant came back with a glasses and gave him a taste of every single wine. Personally, I would be embarrassed to make such requests, but the flight attendant happily complied. I also enjoyed the food, soft pajamas and how the flight attendant made me a full bed with a comforter and soft pillows and even sheets! I was in no hurry for the flight to come to an end because it was truly enjoyable. I’m grateful to have had the experience.

One of the best airlines in the current circumstances, which has lived up its brand image, very systematic checkins. Boarding lounge facilities and the general welcoming nature. My Husband was flying with Singapore. Alliance and I compared that with my experience at emirates.Any days this airline wins hands down
