We took the one-hour tour and found it very informative. The captain provided a comprehensive talk about both sides of the border and he was easy to hear, except for the many side conversations from other patrons. Good value for the cost. One suggestion would be to turn all seating one direction so everybody was looking at the same border at the same time.

First time here. We did the 2 hour tour. The weather was perfect. You cruise up river for about an hour then turn around cruise back. The Captain is your guide for the first hour. After that, people chatted and moved about the boat. They have refreshments on board for a fee. We faced the Mexican side of the boat on the first leg. There was more to see on the US side early, but then later, way more to see on the Mexico side. So I'm not sure which side you should face.

This was the worst river boat tour I've ever been on. The guide is obviously racist and doesn't like Mexico even though he gives tours about Mexico. The USA side is so trashy, and the Mexico side is very clean. All the info was about border crossings and ICE and the cartels. No history of the area was spoken about, except for a brief bit about a dam. This tour was expensive and the lamest part of our family vacation to the Rio Grande Valley. Spend your money doing something fun. There's a lot to do in the area besides this.
