This airline doesn't know who's the customer and also doesn't know how to process payments, and lastly, they don't acknowledge their fault or apologize. Sep 14, 2025 update: These bozos double charged my credit card for a reservation which they simply declined to acknowledge or refund. I was able to dispute the duplicate charge through credit card, but in turn Qatar Airways canceled my reservation without refunding me. Crooked thieves.

Qatar Airways check in personnel were abusive and obnoxious. We had return tickets from Cape Town to Atlanta and we were on the return journey with the luggage we had brought on the inbound trip and they demanded that we reduce our hand luggage to 7.5kgs. They refused to allow us to carry a computer bag as our personal item-which by the way is allowed as per Qatar Airways rules-they said because the computer bags had straps for carrying them on your back they were backpacks and not computer bags. My wife cannot carry hers anymore due to cancer surgery so has to have it on her back. We spent 2 hours packing and repacking bags-they insisted on weighing the carry on bags before they would even check us in. This disgusting treatment by Qatar Airways ground staff has put us off using them to travel back to see our kids in the USA. When we got to Doha and changed flights there was no such carry on baggage weight rule that was being imposed by the Atlanta Qatar Airways ground crew. The airline itself and the crews on the plane are great. However they need to retrain the ground staff and make them more aware of customer service.

You are one of the worst airlines I have ever flown with. I had a flight with your airline, and you kept us waiting for two hours in Atlanta, then flew us to Charlotte, where we had to wait another five hours — all without any food or proper care. After that, you sent us back Atlanta on a bus, a five-hour ride, without our luggage. To make things worse, when we finally received our luggage our suitcases were broken, and you offered no compensation whatsoever This experience was completely unacceptable, and I am extremely disappointed with your service

Worst Airline Experience Ever! I paid an additional $827 for Exit Row seats on our trip from Atlanta to Maldives in April 2025. They bumped my husband and I from our exit row seats with no explanation and no refund, on all 4 legs of our trip! I have been contacting both them and American Express for 5 months now and Qatar refuses to acknowledge that we did not get the exit row seats we paid for. I have the booking reservation showing the seats I paid for and all of our boarding passes showing the seats we actually got....they are Not the Same! Then to add insult to injury, we were supposed to fly out of Maldives at 7pm and we received a phone call right as our hotel was coming to pick us up to transfer us to the airport (4pm) that they bumped us from our flight and put us on a 2am flight. We argued that we did not accept that but they did not care, they bumped us, again without any kind of compensation. We had a room reserved at the hotel at the Doha airport so we could spend the night before our 8am flight, again, they just didn't care. They never offered us any type of compensation for their overbooked flight, which I know for a fact is common practice among airlines, as I have gotten stipends for voluntarily giving up my seat in the past. I will never fly on Qatar Airlines again, as it doesn't matter what you pay for, they will change it and not compensate you for the downgrade. Worst airline ethics ever! Update- the day I posted this review I received an email from Qatar saying that they were going to refund $827 to me, wow! (Coincidence?). I have in fact received the refund, but it doesn’t change my mind about the airline at all. I’m just glad that after 6 months of fighting for this, they finally did the right thing.
