Airport manager will literally testify before congress to keep this place open.

I learned to fly here and both the airport and surrounding area provide an extremely unique flying experience. The runway can be unforgiving for new pilots but it’s very good for learning how to do short field takeoffs and landings. If you take off from runway 6 and get to just 400-500 feet you’ll have a perfect view of Andrews Air Force Base just a few miles in front of you. Heading out of the FRZ to the southwest you’ll have one of the most amazing views of DC you’ll ever get. Would definitely recommend flying here if you have the proper qualifications (this is inside both the SFRA and the FRZ).

Beautiful area, well maintained airport, great facilities and hangers. Easy to find by air (night time lighting is stunning, easier than going to Dulles), and 24/7 fuel is available. Tucked into a valley most winds subside below the tree line making for easy landings.

24 hour fuel, good prices, runway in excellent condition. Flight schools and mechanics on the field. Good place to call home.
