This airport is so cute! I was in town trying out Contour Airlines for my YouTube channel, and MCN solidifies what I love about small airports. TSA is closed off during down times, opening up 15 minutes before boarding, which happens 15 to 20 minutes before departure. The planes only seat 30 people and come twice a day to and from Baltimore. So the whole process is smooth. MCN also gets charter flights to casinos along the Gulf Coast, but naturally Contour is the main draw. The ticket counter is right at the first hallway, accessible by both entrances. The leftmost (main) entrance brings you to Dab’s, the on-site soul food restaurant, and Avis/Budget provides rental car services. All in all, it’s a great small-town airport, and if you’re a plane spotter like me, you’ll see a ton of Embraer E-Jets parked at the Embraer Maintenance Services hangar.

This is a quaint airport that is was great to fly in and out of until they began the charging for parking..... now it's fine to get into, the employees are great, but it's a complete nightmare to get out of. I don't mind paying but there's only one way out and it takes forever for a plane full of people to leave the parking lot. 🥺 It took us almost an hour to get out of the parking lot today. Why???? The employees, TSA and ground crew are amazing, but they've got to do better with the parking situation i

A great regional airport that is small and efficient. Parking was free and the airport was clean and modern. The security and boarding process was stress free. You really just kind of roll up in the parking lot an hour before your flight and jump aboard. We flew to BWI and had a great experience. If you come during the morning you will need to bring your own snacks as the airport is limited in that regard. Way better than driving all the way to ATL.

LOVE this airport. Employees are great, I’m always greeted by the nice officer, and the prices are good. The small size of the airport makes it easy and quick to travel through. I’m also thrilled they changed their destination to IAD, so convenient.

Macon Airport is a case study in how incompetent leadership can destroy the potential of a facility. The management is not only unqualified but blatantly out of their depth, run by people and families who have no experience whatsoever in airport operations. Instead of professionals who understand aviation, economics, and customer service, you have amateurs treating the airport like their personal playground. The result? Outrageously high fuel costs that drive away business, pilots, and carriers, leaving the airport stagnant and irrelevant. What could have been a useful regional hub has been reduced to a poorly run vanity project. The infrastructure is neglected, the pricing is absurd, and the decision-making is guided not by strategy but by incompetence and greed. Macon Airport is not suffering from lack of opportunity—it is being strangled by its own mismanagement. Until the leadership is removed and replaced with people who actually understand aviation, this airport will remain nothing more than a cautionary tale of how nepotism and ignorance ruin communities.
