We stayed here for our son's graduation at the Naval Bootcamp. Wow the rooms are very clean,soft beds,had a microwave and fridge. Swimming pool and hot tub. Close to the Gurnee Mill mall, restaurants and attractions The breakfast for our stay 09/24/25-09/27/25 was by far the best!!! We could make freshly made waffles, there was fruit,coffee, tea,bread etc and Saturday wow my son loved the biscuits and gravy. Since he had overnight liberty they was kind and gracious to give us a military discount on the same rooms. When we checked out Saturday they let us keep our bags there until our departure time Great location not far from the Naval base. This will be our go to Hotel when we visit Chicago and our son Highly, Highly recommend this Hotel The kind polite hospitality is by far the best!!!!!

From what I understand they're going through renovations to make it a better place. I know la Quinta has been slammed in the past and had a lot of bad reviews. But the prices that they're charging right now are for 8.6 star hotel This is definitely more like a two star even though it's owned by Wyndham. I was extremely shocked on how poorly thing is were ran. If I was them I would shut the place down and renovate completely then reopen it. The pool and hot tub was the most disgusting thing I've ever smelled or seen in my life. Absolutely the worst experience I've ever experienced in my life. The room was definitely overpriced and the breakfast I did not even touch because it just looked terrible. Not only that but they are understaffed. They definitely can use more people there. I know it's not the stats fault it is the company itself for short-staffing people. Hopefully in the future when everything is renovated it'll be much better place but that you have to be seen.

We were told to carry our used towels down to the front desk where they count and swap out for fresh towels. We had to go to the laundry room to get linen for the sofa sleeper. The attendant came in to the pool to make sure that we, and apparently only we, were supervising our grandchild (we're a middle aged black couple-the only AA in the pool) in a pool and jacuzzi filled with white and brown guests. The breakfast is mediocre but you can make your own fresh waffles or pancakes. Breakfast staff did not appear friendly. The other staff members greet with smiles. Other than that, it's super close to six flags and has plentiful parking. The jacuzzi was nice and very warm.

I enjoyed my stay here. Room was clean, spacious, with extra conveniences. Minor stains on the floor/visible wear and tear. Breakfast was clean, well stocked, and delicious. Deona took great care of the breakfast area, attentive, and worked hard to serve guests and enhance their experience. Kudos! I got to enjoy the indoor pool too. Quiet hours were enforced, price was reasonable, check-in/out was a breeze, overall a great experience...Thank you!

Though then location was ideal for our trip and they are dog friendly, our stay was less than ideal. The staff seemed eager to help, but never followed through. Our room wasn't cleaned even after we asked twice. Check in took forever and check out, the guy never came to the counter. Just yelled, leave keys on counter. Room was OK. Lot of worn out trim, but decent enough. The $100 EXTRA charged to our credit card was a bit alarming. It was actually $200 because we extended 1 night. So far $100 has been refunded, but a week later the other $100 has not been refunded. Let me be clear, they charge (not just a hold) $100 for each stay. Then refund it, if there is nothing wrong with the room. We won't stay here again.
