I love JAL they are a great airline to fly if you're going to Japan. The flight crew were awesome and attentive. I had a really bad case of osteoarthritis in my knee and it hurt so bad that I thought I was going to pass out and I needed to get up and walk around. The were very nice and made extra room for me. I slept like a baby on my way to Haneda, I thank the FA's sincerely for making my flight comfortable. Arigato Gozaimasu JAL.

The one star is for the lovely staff at the airport and the airline crew. They were very professional and extremely pleasant to be around. JAL's food has gone downhill. I've been flying JAL most of my life. This last flight I chose a vegetarian meal and it was actually vegan (meaning no eggs or dairy). Our main dish was rice and bok choy with salad and fruit salad. We were not allowed to have the rice crackers, ice cream or tart handed out to everyone else bc of our vegetarian meal selection even though we aren't vegan. The meals lacked any creativity and quality as we watched larger (regular) meals with multiple dishes. Also JAL's app is useless and their website is extremely outdated and hard to navigate. One last thing: Our initial flight cost $1200. We had to change our flight because of a family emergency and were charged $2k more. If we didn't have to get to Japan immediately, we would have fought this amount or changed airlines. You can do better JAL. You have lost me and my entire family as faithful customers.

Incredible service , quality and culinary options. The JAL staff from online booking, check in to onboarding and then deplaning with a flight transfer in between, we could not have had such a kind and thoroughly hospitable experience. I am now a frequent flyer and will always choose JAL. An extra staff for the staff and the on board attention to personal needs, especially for the elderly.

I have been trying to change my flight for 4 days. I have spent countless hours on the phone without anyone at JAL able to accomplish this. How can this airline have such a good rating but perform so abysmally? I may have to travel 3 hours to Logan airport in Boston to try and resolve this. Unbelievable!!

Yes, their premium economy has wider seats and bigger screens. However, reclining your seats folds your legs for lack of room. Their staff are courteous👏! JL3 left JFK Airport 50 minutes late at 2:20 a.m. on 10/14/24 instead of its scheduled 1:30 a.m. departure time. We arrived in Tokyo’s Haneda airport around 5:19 a.m on 10/15/24 instead of the 4:45 a. m. ETA. The immigration line was very long!!! A JAL staff took our names for our connecting flight 101 at our arrival gate. However, neither did the lady facilitate passengers with a shortened connection time through immigration nor did she inform the gate crew at the gate in Terminal 1 that we were on our way and had no control over immigration processing time. Unfamiliar with the Terminal 3’s layout, we did not figure out easily where to go. There was a line at customs, a line to purchase monorail tickets, wait time for the monorail, navigating Terminal 1 from the monorail to security in departures. Consequently, we did not make it to our 6:30 a.m. JL 101 flight to Osaka. The JAL staff at the security line in Terminal 1 was able to rebook us only for a 3:00 p.m. flight as all the flights on the half hour every hour to Osaka were full. We were so exhausted and were inconvenienced by a nine-hour delay in Terminal 1; a lost day in Osaka. We sought compensation from JAL, which was denied based on their policy that we had a 1 hour and 10 minute gap to make the connection. Our experience in Haneda Airport made us realize how Travelers Aid volunteers make JFK passengers’ lives easier by answering questions about the terminals, airport, terminal transfer, flights, airlines, giving them directions about transportation, tourism, immigration, etc. Note that Haneda Airport requires passengers to purchase tickets for the monorail from Terminal 3, where our international flight deplaned, to Terminal 1, where our domestic flight would take off. There is a free shuttle bus in arrivals. Confirm with the driver that it’s bound to Terminal 1. Pictures of relevant information are uploaded for others’ ease of reference.

This was my first time flying Business Class with Japan Airlines, and I was fortunate to win the upgrade bid from Premium Economy. It didn’t disappoint at all. The service was exceptional from start to finish, and the cabin crew were attentive and professional. If I had one small suggestion, it would be for the crew to greet the business class passengers by their last name, as I’ve experienced with other airlines. That little touch adds warmth and makes the welcome feel more personal. The food was outstanding — so many options, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely choose Japan Airlines Business Class again in the future.
