I’ve stayed at this location for the past 10 weeks, and it’s been a great experience. The hotel is centrally located, and they have been working to completely renovate the l building. The updated rooms and public spaces look great, and they should be done next month. The staff are what really make this location stand out. Everyone has been incredibly friendly and helpful, even offering to help do my laundry when I couldn’t make it home one weekend! Danyl and Barel and all the other staff I can’t name are great people. The location is well run and breakfast is always stocked by the great morning woman who never stops working!

My husband and I walked in to book a room and was greeted by the sweetest manager my apologies for not remembering her name. We book a king size room that was very spacious and comfortable I believe it’s newly remodeled. They offered complimentary breakfast and had great options 🧇🍳🥯🍎🍊 I definitely recommend a stay there and will most certainly be staying there the next time I visit.

We had a very disappointing experience staying at the Hampton Inn Chicago/Gurnee. We decided to spend the weekend in Gurnee for a vacation, but our plans were interrupted and essentially ruined. We had checked in and carried our belongings into the room, and decided to explore the rest of what the hotel offered. Upon returning to our room, our key cards would not work, and we were unable to get back inside the room. Our car keys and wallets were inside the room, not allowing us to leave the premises. After TWO HOURS, the employees were finally able to open the door to our original room, and we were able to retrieve our belongings. Luckily, we were able to stay in a room next door, but this inconvenience ruined our dinner plans and what we were hoping to do for the night. We were able to speak with the general manager, but he only offered a lousy 10% off discount. I explained that we deserved a greater compensation, and Mr. Patel, the general manager, informed me he would speak to the corporate headquarters, and call me when there would be an update. It has been three months, and I have not heard a word from anyone. This is unacceptable and we will not be staying at another Hilton-owned hotel anytime soon.

We booked this room for the weekend and it did not live up to the Hampton Inn expectations. It was old (the outside seemed to be getting remodeled) but the inside was old, dusty in the room, outdated. Our sheets had something on it so we requested new sheets, we received Queen sized sheets, mind you we had 1 king bed. We changed our own sheets but that was AFTER we came back from a family event realizing the “new” king sheets were two bed covers so we had went down TWICE requesting for the fitted sheet, cover sheet and comforter and the front desk person didn’t understand(?) what I was asking for and insisted that the bed cover is all that they use. We slept on 3 bed covers because nothing else was clean and that’s all she knew they used. We were also in the back of the hotel hearing banging. Breakfast was mediocre. Only good outcome was it being close to our family event. I would not recommend this hotel.

The front desk clerk were very rude, she made multiple racial comments; she even insinuated I was broke and told me the machine didn’t like my debit card; yes; she told me ‘ the machine doesn’t like certain debit card’ she then proceeds to tell me my card declined in front of everyone; although, my card had more than enough money, not to mention; they had already took out my account, this was only the refundable $50 deposit; she told me it was some magical and she was able to push it through; I was totally confused. She also asked me what type of card I had, I tell her “ I have a Mastercard “ she says ‘ is that a debit card’ I said “yes” she says ‘oh, the machine like credit cards better’ to my dismay. This woman was using micro aggression, passive aggression, and racial discrimination. I have never felt so belittled and attacked for no reason whatsoever, I was applauded. I will not be returning, I can do better. I’m only giving two stars for the room.
