This is the first Airport where I learned to fly, a PT-26, back in 1965. My Father was a flight instructor here and Iβll never forget all the wonderful weekends at the Griffith Indiana airport. I was always washing airplanes because of the nearby cement facility which created corrosive dust on the airplanes. I joined the Air Force flying the C-130 Hercules cargo plane. I built an Acroduster II aerobatic bi plane flying it 23 years. I Retired from Delta Airlines.

This place is great! Took my intro flight lesson today and had an awesome time. My instructor was Larry and he is a good teacher, looking forward to obtaining my private pilot's license.

After flying down the Chicago Lakeshore, we stopped in here to get some tacos at Mi Tierra on the field. Super friendly people at the desk and around the compound.

Had dinner at the new restaurant Flakostacos π Excellent food, excellent service. And they're working on the atmosphere. Needs signage and flash outside so they'll be noticed.

Drive by this place often. Looks like it would be a great place to start off learning to fly. And they have a Restaurant.
