The Surgical Technology program should be investigated. The way the teachers treat and talk to their students is quite sad, borderline emotional abuse. The program is ran like a boot camp. There is no emotional support for students. They expect their students to know things as if they been working as a surgical technologist for years. They teach one thing then expect a different outcome. The teachers are all over the place when they teach, that makes it hard to keep up and understand the material. They threaten to drop you from the program for minor mistakes The list goes on. There are other programs in the valley that are way better..

After attending several diffrent schools, this is the most frustrated I've ever been. If you apply to this school expect to be passed around diffrent departments when trying to answer a simple question, long wait times, an academic advisor who is trying to get you off her call list without helping with anything, and a mandatory video that answers absolutely no questions. For a small community college, I was treated like I was signing up for Yale or some other Ive leage when in reality i was trying to get an associates in a basic subject. Due to these reasons I have decided to look elsewhere for the sake of my education and sanity.

I’ve taken classes at the other community colleges with no issues. Gateway was by far the worst experience they messed up my financial aid which caused me to get dropped from classes. Then when I called and emailed their financial aid office nobody could figure out what happened or why my financial aid disappeared mysteriously after their last day to drop/refund without penalty. Now I’m being stuck with a bill for courses I didn’t take.

Went in to enroll and was very disappointed because the workers dont even try to help you they just send you places and make you go onto the computer without any help. And i asked about there programs but the employee didnt inform me about any of the programs they have she just sent me to a computer struggling for at least 40 minutes. I asked for help but she would tell me the same thing.

I have been going to Gateway Community College for four years . I have completed both the Phlebotomy certification, and Nuclear Medicine certification. The teachers care for your education and help you succeed. Not only was it affordable but it helps you prepare for your career . 10/10 would recommend for anyone .

Many of the instructors are RNs but lack the proper qualifications to teach effectively, and they provide little to no useful instruction. It’s hard to understand how the nursing board even grants them credentials. The administration seems to care more about collecting tuition than ensuring students actually learn.
