I earned my Private Pilot Cerificate with Fly Legacy Aviation a little over a month ago while still in high school and 17 years old. The patience and flexibility that my CFI, Nazariy, had to offer made this possible. Not only was it evident that the staff cared about me getting my Private Pilot Certificate, it was also clear that they cared my safety and success in the field of Aviation well beyond passing my private pilot checkride. Additionally, there is a large fleet of planes available which are all kept in excellent condition. The planes all feature glass cockpit, touch-screen technology which makes it easy to monitor instruments and access systems. I highly recommend choosing Fly Legacy Aviation for anyone interested in becoming a pilot, and even just a discovery flight for anyone with a general interest in aviation.

I had a discovery flight here at Fly Legacy Aviation, and I had a great time flying with an instructor named Alex, he was a fun guy to be with and he helped me with everything and would answer me any questions I had to ask. Also Fly Legacy owns some really nice planes with great technology in the interior of the aircraft. Thank you Fly Legacy Aviation!

This review has been 5 years in the making. I decided to write it now because this past week, I passed my certified flight instructor check ride. This accomplishment was a direct result of Fly Legacy, and my long time instructor Jim. Back in 2019, I started working toward my private pilot certificate with Fly Legacy after doing a discovery flight. At that time, the school had a fleet of well maintained, but older aircraft, outfitted with steam gauge instrumentation and interiors straight out of the 70s. These well loved aircraft are what I trained in and used to successfully attain my private pilot certificate. Fast forward to 2022, when I began working towards my advanced ratings. The amount of investment in the school was evident. Fly Legacy had started to bring their new, uniform fleet of Piper 100i's on the line; modern, technically advanced aircraft, with a glass panel, autopilot, and fuel injected engines. This fleet has grown to 10 total. The uniformity of their fleet reduces the likelihood of flying an unfamiliar aircraft during training and a higher probability you can switch aircraft at a moments notice, should any issues arise. Any maintenance related issues are quickly resolved because of their dedicated maintenance department. To their credit, they continue to maintain aircraft with steam gauges, which I used for my instrument and commercial ratings. These aircraft are kept to the exact same standards as the new aircraft, with continued investment to keep them going. Last year, they changed the game again by acquiring not one, but two twin engine DA-42s, which I used to get my commercial multi-engine rating. These aircraft have glass panels, which makes transition between their single and multi-engine fleet relatively seamless. Speaking toward their management, I have know Alex, the general manager, for the entire time I have been at the school. If I have a problem, issue, or question, he is quick to answer it. I have never felt like I was given the run around and he has gone above and beyond to accommodate my needs. Their front desk staff are stellar, and always extremely helpful when I have scheduling or billing questions. Speaking toward the instructors. These CFIs come from all walks of life and backgrounds. Fly legacy does have newer CFIs, ones that have trained in their pipeline and know the school and training environment well, just like any successful flight school. They also have seasoned pilots, who have been CFIs for many years and are dedicated to flight instructing, like my instructor Jim. This mixture creates a good balance of enthusiastic talent and highly experienced pilots. In the flight school, I see all kinds of students - old, young, and international. This school can meet the training needs of everyone. Just look at all of the reviews and check out their social media page; hundreds of posts of students celebrating their successes. I don't know of another flight school in the area with such a high volume of praise. Sorry for the long review - I think when choosing something as costly as flight training, the more informed you are, the better.

Enjoyed my Discovery flight at Fly Legacy Aviation! I highly recommend them. It was this simple: 1. Book a slot online 2. Show up 20 mins earlier than the booking. 3. Don’t throw up (apparently a few people do) 4. Enjoy the skies in their Piper aircraft’s Thank you Vince for being a great instructor!

I got my instrument rating at FlyLegacy recently, thanks to CFI Patrick and the whole staff that makes this school run smoothly. He and everyone here are very driven and professional. Aircraft are all expertly maintained and are all nearly identical, so there is no problem transitioning from one airplane to another. Plus, the modern glass panel avionics are perfect for safe IFR flying. Although most students here train under 141, I came in with a lot of part 61 time and they were able to work with me to get this rating done on my own busy schedule. Simple as this, you won't find a single other flight school in the Philly area matches their combination of professionalism and flexibility, and with such modern yet affordable airplanes.
