Sheri Smith recently helped with a very complicated overseas trip with many moving parts- - flights, cars, trains, hotels, the whole shebang. She was a total pro from start to finish and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Disappointing first contact with this agency. Requested to set up a 5 min phone call to explore working together, but got someone who emailed and is making it difficult to do that. I prefer a short phone call to emailing back and forth 10 tinea to accomplish the same thing. Seems like the answer to that requeat is "of course" and the suggesting some times.

Sometimes folks have said "I can get a better deal online." But I've tried that... AND been stranded overseas when the airline I had used to "get the best price online" CEASED OPERATIONS the day I was scheduled to fly home. Seriously. Been there, done that. Not fun. I learned an important lesson that day as I watched fellow travelers call their travel agents and promptly get booked onto alternate flights back to the States. I was left scrambling, however, because there was no one for me to call (the airline's customer service center had shut down along with the rest of the company). I literally had to go from airline counter to airline counter at Gatwick until I found one who would sell me a last minute one-way ticket—for which I had to pay 150% more than my "bargain" round-trip ticket (which was now effectively worthless). That's the day I learned the true value of having a travel agent. Indeed, having a good travel agent is more than just the convenience of having someone handle the reservations and ticketing. An effective travel agent is also a "safety net" when things go awry.
