I've been renting from Economy for months now due to my job in FL. The main reason being that the agents that always help me are extremely efficient, cordial and quick. Heriberto is wonderful and always explains everything in detail. Victoria and Stephanie as well, always very helpful and friendly. I had some issues with cars with them but they changed the cars for me with no further question. Paola from customer service has been great help with making that happen. The manager David could use a bit more of what the other agents offer. Actually listen to what the customer says, maybe? He lacks cordiality and real customer service. If it was up to him, Economy would have lost a customer who rents every single week there for the past 7 months. Luckily they have the agents I mentioned.

Booked through Priceline. It was nice and easy to get to from Miami airport with their shuttle ride. Upon arrival the lady I dealt with was talking to a coworker the entire time. All she told me was to go get my key from the box and find the car in the lot. No instructions at all on returns or anything. I also had an issue with the car during my trip. Called them 6 times with no answer at all. Had to call corporate to get a hold of the Miami location. Finally the address they give you on the phone to try and return is completely wrong and takes you to an abandoned spot. I’d give this review a 1 but the car was fine just customer service was the worst I’ve ever dealt with.

I had a terrible experience with this place. I booked online through Expedia at a price I found reasonable, however, by the time I was sitting in the car I had paid an extra 175% for extortionate insurance & prepaid toll fees. I brought the car backs & other charges several days earlier than planned but they don't do refunds for early return. For some reason they kept $75 of my $250 security deposit. There was no pre-handover inspection so I assume they make everyone pay for dents caused a long time in the past. Absolute bandits.

I always treat reviews as a grain of salt. But the below reviews are actually real. I can't believe how this business has a 4.3 star rating. This is by far my worse car rental experience. As Canadian they mandatory charge their insurance saying we need to prove our insurance (although I bought booking.com insurance and had my own credit card insurance) has liability printed. At the end they charged us expensive insurance (more than our rental fee) that total the same if not more than the other big companies. This is a bait and switch tactic, give you a nice low ball offer while charging a much higher fee. Also there's a second part. After one month of returning the car, I noticed they charged an extra $86 I don't know what it is (I guess it's the refueling charge as some reviewers mentioned). I know I returned the car at 95% of the fuel and I can't believe they will charge that much for refueling 5%. And you simply can't reach them by phone. I will never rent a car from them again and recommend just go to more reputable rental companies although the initial rental rate looks much higher. At the end you probably will pay more here.

Heads up! The SunPass toll tag is mandatory at this location, and you cannot use your own account to pay tolls. There is a mandatory fee of $20 per day, which is quite unreasonable! This information should be clearly stated on major booking platforms such as Expedia, Booking.com, and Priceline. Economy Rent a Car will only inform you about this mandatory fee at their rental counter, ONLY. I highly advise against using this company, as many other rental services do not impose such inconvenient charges on their customers.

I booked through Travelocity thinking I got a great deal for a week. Well I was wrong. They practically forced you to use their insurance. I’ve always used my personal insurance (300/500 coverage) and my credit card’s rental insurance with no issues at other companies like Enterprise or Budget. When I arrived, the employee basically forced me to buy their insurance or pay a $2,500 deposit. She didn’t even check my insurance documents. It was late, I had my small children with me, and since this location was off-airport, I had no choice but to go through with it. They also charged $20 a day for an infant car seat, which wasn’t even assembled — my brother-in-law had to spend 20 minutes figuring it out on YouTube. Then the agent tried to sell us a $25-per-day toll pass, saying it was required (it wasn’t). To make things worse, when we extended the rental by just one day, we were told “extensions are done differently” and charged $90 for that single day! This company uses deceptive sales tactics and adds hidden charges at every turn. Save yourself the frustration and rent elsewhere.
