What a wonderfully clean airport. Many food locations to choose from and place to sit and charge up before your flight. With the expansion under way - going to be a great new terminal.

My biggest complaint with this airport is the front entrance. It can get kinda chaotic since there’s only one way in for cars and not a lot of free parking. I’d keep this in mind if you’re on a tight schedule and looking to leave/enter this place. I’d factor in an extra 20-30 mins at least. I definitely think they should expand the airport a bit to accommodate increased traffic. That being said, the interior of the airport is very clean and nice. Easily the best airport in the state. No problems whatsoever with boarding. There’s a bunch of reasonably priced direct flights to places like Denver for instance. Again only real issue is getting in and out of the airport in your car.

Easy to get around, TSA are efficient and friendly. With only 2 baggage claim belts, finding your baggage is simple. If you miss it, the lost baggage counter is right next to the belts.

Was up there in June 2025. Finding parking was a bit of a challenge, but doable. Inside the Terminal, so Clean and the Staff are very Friendly. Many Eateries. A Great Airport overall. Very Pleasant Atmosphere

Love the quick and professional treatment at TSA. Had last minute business travel but never got my Gold Star - online suggested I arrive 3 hours early to allow for additional screening. I was definitely put through extra scrutiny, but it still only took 35 minutes. 👍

This airport is always efficient and staff very friendly every time I fly in and out of it. They are undergoing a remodel currently and I hope they will upgrade the parking lot as well to help ease some of the congestion in the parking lots. It took me quite some time to find a spot the last couple of times I've been. The security checkpoint is always short compared to many other airports I've been through. Des Moines is one of my favorite airports to use!
