I've recently flown the low cost carriers between the US and the EU. FrenchBee (good food), NorseAtlantic (new planes) and Condor which I would describe best as a flying tenement. Firstly, the departure from Frankfurt unacceptable. The gate staff was contracted by Condor, non-Condor employees, and unable to answer any questions regarding our delayed departure. After four gate changes, our A300 was at least 45 years old if not more. The cabin was literally falling apart, having wall panels caulked together (see photos). We paid to move our seats to a bulk head seat for more leg room. However, the dining tray at both my seat and my wives seat was broken. Moreover, the in-flight entertainment system on both our seats hadn't been cleaned, ever. It took us at least 10 anti-bacterial wipes each to clean the device of what looked like human bio-waste. Again, I have the pictures to support my claim. I've been fortunate to have traveled around the globe for both business and personal enjoyment. Without question, this was the worst flying experience I've had in terms of any metric one might use to define quality of service. If you are considering flying to or from the EU, I would strongly advise you to stay clear of Condor.

Denied my family water at the San Antonio airport which had no air conditioning in Texas summer. Condor staff said “if I give you water, other people will want water”. Our toddler was crying for water and these people wouldn’t give us any.

I can't stress enough how disappointing the customer service is at this airline. None of the agents can do anything for you. If you have a problem be prepared not to get a solution. On our flight from Frankfurt to Phoenix most of the seats in Premier Economy no longer had the footrest, and the seat I sat in did not recline fully. They will still charge you the full price for these seats, but they will not be able to do anything to fix it. My initial disappointment started when I booked a flight. I paid for two specific seats to Germany, and two specific seats for my return flight to Phoenix. On the day I checked in to depart, my seats were not available, I was unable to check into the seats I booked and paid for. I spent hours on the phone speaking with agents who told me they couldn't do anything for me and I would be refunded. Not only did I not want the refund, I did not even get it! As I write this, I have still not been refunded my money and I did not get the seats I paid for. I addressed this concern in Frankfort at Condor's main desk, and was told by the representative, upon showing him my printout and original confirmation, that he sees this all the time! Unfortunately the flight was booked, the seats I paid for were not available and there was nothing he could do, this is a very common theme at Condor, no one at this airline can do anything. The airline gets you there and back, and if that is your only desire you probably will not be disappointed. However, if your flying premium or better do not try this airline. They have no business offering or charging for anything more than an economy flight. If you have any issues at all, either because of something you did, or something Condor did, you will not get them resolved. The most important thing a company should offer when traveling internationally is support staff that is prepared to help in an emergency or to resolve a simple issue. I can assure you that no one I spoke with at Condor was able to do ANYTHING to resolve my simple issue. I paid for an upgraded seat, and had a paper confirmation, and they simply couldn't offer it to me, nor was anything offered in exchange. I can also assure you that they were well aware that over half of the seats in premium economy did not have functioning leg rests, or reclining features, and they still offer them at full price. If you are looking for anything more than a basic economy seat to be assigned at boarding, do not try Condor. Pay more money for a higher quality airline, or spend the entire international flight wishing you did, like I did.

Unfortunately Condor provides the only direct flight to Europe from my city. Otherwise I would not choose them again. My biggest complaint is my lost luggage. Unlike other airlines no one is available at the airport to try and track it down. You must file on the internet and all it ever says is that they are still searching. I've had lost luggage before and always had it delivered within a day or two. Very unhappy with this experience.

Cheap Airline, but trust me, you will pay for the “money saved” in lost time, lost luggage, delayed flights, absent workers, the list goes on and on. Such a nightmare to fly, beginning with the 1.5-2 hour check in line, where only one employee was checking in ALL the passengers for an international flight. This caused a near 2 hour delay of the flight, and by extension all passengers with connections missed their flights. You would be lucky to make a rebooked flight they book for you, but most partnering airlines just laugh off these rebooking. More than 6 hours after I should have arrived at my destination, I am still not there, and Condor claims to have no record of my husband’s luggage. Their customer service line is COMPLETELY useless and their website even more so. Save yourself the headache and book the next more expensive flight. Did I mention they charge for alcohol and snacks? Just pathetic.
