There could be renovations done to the kids area. Maybe add some new stores to make the place more appealing. Target is always one of my favorite places to go when I visit here. I also enjoy the Japanese restaurant, and Rainbow. Their clothes are always reasonably priced. This mall is usually pretty clean. My son used to love going to the kids play area, going down the slide.

This afternoon my husband and I went to the pagoda stand to put earrings on my little one and from the first moment we arrived the lady who attended, ignored us... after a few minutes she asked us what was offered to us. I answered her and she only showed me the earrings I was looking for. While she was talking to her co-worker.. when I decided to ask her about the earrings, she raised her hand to shut me up because apparently she was in an important conversation with her coworker.. my husband and I left, because of the bad service she gave us. Poor customer service ! Don’t take your bad day out on others

A partial, but Massive demolition is underway to make way for a whole new mall / residential complex , very exciting. The Movie theaters , restaurants and Target store are all still open and serving like normal.

It’s very rare that I visit Chesapeake Square these days, and honestly, that says a lot about its current condition. Like many malls across the country, it used to be a bustling hub filled with open stores and steady foot traffic. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. Now, a large portion of the mall is closed off, and only a handful of stores remain open—probably fewer than I can count on my fingers, and I wouldn’t even need to use my toes. The atmosphere feels quiet and a bit hollow, a stark contrast to the lively energy it once had. The main reason I come to the mall now is to visit the jewelry store. While I’m fine with buying most things online, jewelry is one of those purchases I prefer to see and feel in person before making a decision. For that purpose, the trip is worth it—but beyond that, there’s not much else drawing me in. It’s sad to see what was once a vibrant shopping destination reduced to this, but unless there’s a significant revitalization, Chesapeake Square remains a shadow of its former self. Rating: ⭐⭐☆☆☆ (2/5) Functional for specific needs like in-person jewelry shopping, but overall, a deeply diminished experience.

Most of the stores are gone but the karate dojo, Red Dragon Martial Arts Academy, is the only reason I go.
