I had to pick up an item that was flown in here and I was impressed. I don’t know what it takes to fly out here but it is a nice setting for an airport. Rainbow in the background.

😎Cool Facility πŸ’ͺ I got to do some contract work over there. The maintenance personnel are very nice, professional, and "down to Earth"; considering it's an airport!✈️ I had a great and productive day! I also got to see and experience things, up close, I don't experience everyday.πŸš… BTW, would you believe they have a "Mile-High".........I mean a "Million-Air" Club?πŸ€”πŸ€«πŸ’ͺ

Easy airport. Definitely worth using instead of driving all the way to Dallas, Houston, or New Orleans. The parking is free and I've never had any issues leaving my car for up to 2 weeks. The only thing that I don't like is the TSA agents getting you through security are overzealous. They never fail to harass my wife while she is carrying an infant. You'd think she was boarding a flight to Syria while holding a lit stick of dynamite.

I absolutely love going to the air shows especially here at Chennault International airport in Lake Charles. It's about an hour and a half mile drive and all the enthusiasm and suspense that you build up when going to watch such brave and powerful displays of sheer military action and force will make anyone feel crazy . When I see all the aircrafts ; my favorite of course is the F22 Raptor, I get so much adrenaline and even emotional at the beautiful sights and sounds and I'm just so proud of our young men and women and proud of their accomplishments and proud to be free. I wish I would get a second chance to do something worth a bunch of meaning because man I would jump right into that single seat of the Raptor and I would set myself free. The control and the stealth of this magnificent body of metal and supersonic power plus the tactical system is superior and my favorite part is that it's so streamlined and unnoticeable until after it passes over you then you feel and see its Roar and screeching and the earth vibrates and passing birds get all shook up and they fly crooked and ohh man, its unreal.. that's all I'm going to say about that. I did meet the man who flew the raptor and I shook his hand and got an autograph by him. I felt so privileged and proud. I liked the fact that we were allowed to walk through a few of the aircrafts and got to witness and experience what it was like on an actual mission, minus the battle. It gives you personal insight on what it takes for each soldier to earn this title in the airforce. It's amazing. And they were also there to provide any information or answer any questions that you may want to know about. Very enlightening experience. You cant beat the area either. There is a huge open paved area for the aircrafts to be displayed and plenty of space to walk around and then pull out your blanket or folding chairs and just take it all in one minute at a time. There is plenty of very clean Porto potties and hand washing stations with towels to dry off. They have different vendors or catering services that provide you with decent food just a little too high for me. You cannot bring ice chests or food into the gated area but you can bring your sports drinks. And this time there were free shuttle buses and a.t.vs taking you to and from the airfield. You park for free and they pick you up at a designated waiting area and bring you back also. I remember last two shows I went to , the walking distance was literally a baton death march. With the heat from the sun and blisters on your feet, you really appreciate that shuttle ride back to your vehicle. At last, always read the security details for these types of shows. You can find that online on the Airport's website. You dont want to arrive in full body tactical gear and some alcohol on your breath when coming to the shows. You might look a little suspicious and probaly will get searched and turned away. Lol. And be sure to pick up some bumper stickers and patches or even t-shirts to show your gratitude to the fine women and men who make this all possible. Dont forget to shake their hands and tell them how much you appreciate them and next time you see a veteran HUG THEM!!!!. JUST one simple act of gratitude can make their day. We don't know what they are going through or what they have seen and gone through back then so make them feel loved and give them a hug. Or if that's too personal for you, a mere "Thank You" will work wonders.
