I'm still furious about how American Airlines handled my cancelled flight. They just cancelled it - no warning, no explanation, nothing. When I called to find out what happened, customer service basically read from a script and couldn't (or wouldn't) tell me why my flight was scrapped. The worst part? No compensation. Not a penny. I had to scramble to find another flight last minute and ended up paying way more out of pocket. This whole experience has been a nightmare. I've flown with budget airlines before and even they treat their customers better than this. At minimum, tell people WHY you're cancelling their flight and help them out when you mess up their plans. I've learned my lesson. There are too many other airlines out there to waste your money on one that clearly doesn't care about its passengers.

America Airlines clearly values their bottom line over customers time and added expenses incurred for their cancelled flights. They seem to be struggling and I think customers are paying the price. I had to rebook on another airline due to a cancelled flight and AA inability to get me home in 2 days, and they refused to reimburse my costs.

Two way trip to Washington DC first flight paid extra money for a seat, never got the refund for seat and not a good seat. said it was going to be late. Then getting on a different airplane then canceled. Left 5 hours late. Next Texas late 2 hours. Coming home said it can't happen again. 4 hours late connection flight late 3 hours. It was terrible the way they treat you.

It amazes me that an airline would treat its first class passengers with disrespect and a lack of care and concern. Surprisingly, when I fly Delta, I am treated with dignity. American gate agents apparently do not receive the same training. it is unfortunate, but the quote of the weekend i had been "American is not Delta."

0 Stars. I never want to fly American Airlines again, especially after today. Flights were oversold (even though we paid in advance and checked in early), then delayed, and we got bumped from first after waiting for over 2 hours just to find out if they would even have seats for us on the connecting flight. I was told by customer service to fill out a form for a downgrade refund request, after the flight, on my own time, and hope for the best. Planes are old and small, there are no real first class cabins on same coast domestic flights, and service sucked with 75% of the AA employees I interacted with today. Customers lost! There are so many reviews and mentions online from others stating the same about AA, most are recent too.

I have NEVER had a pleasant experience flying with American Airlines. On more than one occasion, my flight has been delayed due to waiting for a flight crew to arrive. I know they have no control over the weather, but they could share a little more communication when flights are delayed and then canceled. American Airlines, your track record is disappointing. I will surely think long and hard before booking a flight with you again.
