Roanoke needs more baggage handlers, more desk attendants, and more everyone. It cannot keep a proper level of service with this small of an airport. Seriously, the directors or management of the Roanoke airport needs to consider increasing the number of employees.

Absolutely horrible experience. It took 40 minutes for a bag to get from the plane to baggage claim. The American check in, which is basically right next to baggage claim, was unmanned the entire time. American Airlines customer service said it would take 35 minutes for a rep to call me back when I called them looking for help. The Delta people told me good luck finding them when I stopped by them to see if they had any idea where an American worker might be. Missed the shuttle to Virginia Tech over this. The wait for the next shuttle was an hour. Waiting for the bag took most of that time.

Typically passengers expect to receive their luggage at the end of their journey. American seems to see that as option service or at least one they will get to at their own sweet time. I’ve collected my luggage and gotten through immigration at some of the largest international airports in the world a lot faster than this (and I’m still waiting)! Do better AA!!! Also maybe having a service rep available would be helpful?

I have to Deliver three over dimensions luggage, I paid USD 300,00 and the staff was very helpful. If it cost less, I should give 5 stars.

5 stars to the staff that does work here BUT American Airlines has a MAJOR staffing problem here. Arriving and flying out; there was only 1 grounds crew between their 2 terminals. So many flights were & are delayed because of this. United clearly operated much better at this airport than American Airlines. Do yourself a favor and don't use AA. Even using another carrier is risky with limited terminals and limited staff.
