Truly an unserious airline. They just abandon new staff to flounder at the bag check alone with no return in sight :( Unprofessional. Edit: After waiting 10 minutes for the one staff member who was trained on how to add an in-cabin pet to return, we were then chased down at TSA by the same employee because they forgot to actually have us sign the form. Just stressful for no reason in an otherwise empty airport. No other airline had 15 people waiting to check bags. Edit 2: They then proceeded to deplane while we were supposed to be boarding with no update on the board or verbally or anything to let passengers know if they have time to do anything else.

Horrible experience with AA. The woman boarding people at the gate was extremely grumpy and yelled at all the people who scanned the wrong boarding pass. She also yelled at people who had more than one personal item, like they don’t charge $90 to check something. On our way out we were delayed 56 hours with no compensation for the lost days of work, hotels, rental car, uber, food, drinks or lost luggage. Please do not fly AA it’s terrible. Do better AA, your employees are extremely rude and unhelpful, and yell A LOT.

Can't speak to overall experience with American but I have to give praise to one particular employee, Sara, who helped us this past weekend. When checking in and getting my in-laws from check-in to the gate area, she stuck with them the entire time and was very kind to and patient with all of us. She helped them with checking luggage, gate checking my MIL's walker, pushing her wheelchair, getting them through TSA, and finding their gate. Nice young lady and a real asset for AA.

The reviews are sad and I can't help but contribute. But before I do I want to say American Airlines is really the best advertisement for Delta. You just need to fly both and see. I love how Delta tends and tries to run a tight program. So flew to Philly and back last week. Out going flight was great...almost like Delta! So they sent me a survey...I included my return experience because that was so bad they of course didn't offer a survey for that one. The weather was bad so I concede that. But having to go to THREE gates and took them 4 hours to complete a 40 minute flight. So we finally board. My bag is pink tagged...got to do that yourself. Got to walk out into the rain on tarmack to find your plane. Nobody out there...guess I could have just strolled around the place. Climbing up the stairs...no welcome just look away...because they love their jobs. I had to ask if I was on right plane. We pull out about 10pm for a 7pm departure. But wait...cant go yet because plane is overdue for an inspection. At 10pm in a storm fully loaded they realize it needs an inspection. I think we landed about 11pm. These guys a masters of lies...nothing they say can be taken as real. You forget that when you fly Delta...they have the balls to tell you the bad news. Nobody is perfect, just try the truth once in awhile. So I try to fly Delta...as you can tell. And I tend to avoid Philly, and now that I think about it I can't remember a single on time departure from that airport so I have always avoided it. But it makes sense. Philly is an American hub, the city deserves better. What bugs me is they carry the name American and don't live up to our country's standards for American citizens.

The AA counter and employees at this airport are just unprofessional. They fail to give accurate information and then when you get incredibly worried and start rushing (because they tell you a delayed plane was indeed not delayed already there and getting ready to board), they will actually do what they can to make you even later! They are unhelpful. They will look at you when you are talking, take their hand to their mouth and bring their fingers together, as if to say "shut it up", not even kidding! They are rude and unhelpful. They are unapologetic. The managers will make excuses for their rude employees and have zero accountability! Pay a few extra dollars and fly another airline.
